Default [LazyGamer]Activision announces Global Modern Warfare 2 Price Hike (PC)

Quote:
According to a Press Release received from the local Activision distributors, Megarom, the global price for the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has been increased to $60 (US), £45 (UK) and R500 (SA)

There has been no real reason given for the price increase apart form that it's a global standardisation of the price... whatever that means
Source

Oh well I thought it was gonna be $49.99 but I'll guess I can wait until the price drops or on black friday

Not news, this has been known for a long while now.
This was the reason I pulled my money off the reserve copy I pre-ordered.
so now I will just buy it used, sorry no profit for activision coming from my pocket.

While Garry's mod had sold 9% of its total sales during the half price week (Increasing sales that week by 1074%). Activision continues to not get the picture and raises prices further lowering sales.

Though it is likely that they'll make more money from raising the price another $5 more (CoD4 was $49, WaW was $54) they'd still more then likely make an unheard of amount of sales if later down the road they significantly lowered the price.

LOL. No one in the UK is going to buy it for that price. That being said, somewhere like Asda will probably cut it to £20 to entice you into their store to buy more.

I always thought EA would be the first to try and do this. It doesn't really matter much to me because it probably won't catch on and I don't plan on buying the game.
