The mark of someone who actually cares about a service, is that they would propose constructive changes. By that criteria he's a better user of Steam than you are.

Besides that fact, Steam has real potential to become an effective monopoly in the world of digital distribution. Even the good will eventually turn bad if the limits aren't defined.

Next, it's disturbing that Steam has such potential to kill the second-hand game market. That doesn't serve our interests as gamers, in any form whatsoever, from what I can tell. It only serves corporations, who haven't got an ideal track record for honesty or integrity.

mw2 is all steam, so if I want to play that game, then yes my hand is forced to use steam and have absolutely no chance of resell.
All the ppl so eager to turn over their hard copies because they have a hard on for valve is very a bad thing to me.
I don't mind it being an available service, I actually like it, but any game from valve is bond to your account and it is illegal to sell your steam account. WT* is that...So there was no reason for me to get a hard copy of l4d, other than install time.

Things that would make steam better:

- Able to deactivate your CD-Keys present on one account and put onto another. Allows you to have full control over your product.
- The ability to make your own hard copy of the game.
- Able to use your games in offline mode, without the requirement of a previous connection. (Validate online, then allowed offline use).

Who cares if they have "potential", its most likely not gonna happen. Theres a ton of digital distribution methods right now. Direct2drive is very popular, and I wouldn't be suprised if xfire's store takes off. I see xfire as being the biggest competition to steam.

Is Direct2Drive being built in to games that are purchased in-store? There is potential, and the people who care...are the people who actually care about the future state of PC gaming.

Regrettably, can't say I know much about xfire, but my point stands.
