Bad Company was pretty sluggish on the 360 and I always said it'd be a great PC game. I'm now diverting all my MF2 attention to BC2, like everyone else. But, I feel I have a reason (probably like everyone else)

Agreed. After the crap they've pulled MW2 and IW can crash and burn for all I care. Dice just moved up a few ranks and BC2 is definitely getting my attention/cash as a result.

I want the opposite. I want this game to succeed simply because if I'm going to shell out $60 for a game thats going to shaft me as it is with the dedicated servers, it had better be an amazing game that'll blow me away.

It NEEDS to fail to teach activision and IW a lesson. They can't just ignore their PC fan base because they think what they are doing is better. It would be so easy for them to add dedicated server support along with IWNet if they really think IWNet is going to be so good. The issue here is greed, they want full control over the game so they can charge for DLC. We need to teach activision a few lessons: 1) $50, not $60 2) Free DLC 3) Allow mods

Dice better keeps his word on this, any feature that gets taken out for the sake of console's will be enough to get people flame on instant.
Its really great to read these words from DICE, but if its just a stunt to attract the pissed off costumers from IW and end up fooling all of them they won't be laughing anymore. This is just assuming in the end tho.

Im looking out for this game, and im sure DICE will pull this off. I mean, BF2 & 2142 are two great pc games that are still active.

I feel the same way. As a game developer, I do not feel like reward other developers for doing things the wrong way. I feel strongly that gaming companies can be great, if they treat all of their customers/buyers good. There are companies out there that make tons of money because they consistently make great games, but those companies seem to be getting greedy.

Valve -> L4D2 -> Petition

I see valid arguments for all of these petitions. I also see that all three of these companies are probably filthy rich, and are now treating their customers with less respect. I guess I should be clear on my position that I don't care much about the L4D2 controversy, you get what you pay for, there isn't implied DLC for games.

Dude you have no idea, after I heard about this from DICE I literally looked up a BF: BC 2 and I was like wow. First off, Frostbite is gonna be awesome on PC if they do it right. Just watching the Xbox 360 version of the first one, I am quite amazed that I never even played that game. I own and still play BF2, but I think I will become more into DICE games.

Blizzard has spent 5+ years working on SC2... how many other devs do you know of that spend that kind of time perfecting a game? All of the petitions I've heard of for SC2 are generally uninformed whiners. There is nothing wrong with the 3 campaigns. Its 1 more expansion then SC had, is that a problem? Its not like your paying for nothing. LAN is in no way necessary. All of these "petitions" lasted like a week and then everyone forgot about them.

I'm really hoping BC2 isn't as much of a mess as BF2 was when it first came out. However, I missed most of the BF2 fiasco initially because I didn't get it till after patch 1.41. The fact that DICE released patch 1.5 with new maps and the expansion packs makes me realize how much value I've gotten out of buying BF2 from the bargain section for $10. I've not had the same experience from any other game and really hope that BC2 is something that lives up to the epic Battlefield name.
