just because you didn't like a game, didn't mean lots of other people didn't. Game ratings aren't meant to be taken on a literal scale, where a perfect score leads to a perfect game, but rather should be used as a measure of how enjoyable the game was for the reviewer.
hence why video game reviews are not allowed in the news.

Either way, back on topic: Famitsu didn't give out too many perfect scores until recently, it seems, until 2008, when they gave out three 40s in a year, and now 3 in 2009 as well.

They're either getting more lenient or games are getting more awesome. I guess many of us will get to see soon enough if this game is deserving of the rating Famitsu gave it.

exactly why I said that ratings are relative to the player....

Lets see here...
Gunplay - Works great
Cover System - Works amazing for how many things have to be considered in a sandbox game of GTAs magnitude
Driving - Not as fun as the old games but surely works without a hitch most of the time
Flight - Lack of planes is a downer but the helicopter controls a greatly improved over past itterations and the way the rotor and tails break off is amazing.
Can Swim

Those are all gameplay aspects and they work flawlessly together. Now it may not be as fun as Saints Row 2 but everything works much better than in SR2.

your opinion and rightfully so you are entitled to have it, though I disagree.
