w/e game ratings and reviews have become pointless, as a mere gimmick to just promote games better...
I mean uncharted 2 10/10, fallout 3 9.3/10,gta 4 9.5/10.
so you mean to tell me that these games are perfect and without flaw of any kind I don't think so.
whoppy, games have just been getting rated higher and higher, they are going to have to start a scale that goes above 100% soon if this keeps up.

either people are handing out higher scores left and right, or maybe games are just that better.

Though giving a game a 100%, they better make sure the game actually deserve it.
I mean giving out 100% doesnt mean that its flawless. you cant expect a score to be 99.99xx% where that leftover .1xx is flawed. A score is to be meant as a fast way of determining how good the game is, if you want a detail explanation on how good the game is you read the review. I respect magazines that didnt give out number percentage of reviews, they just gave detailed summaries. The numbers are just for lazy readers to see if the game is for them.

I don't think games are rated on whether or not they're perfect. A perfect 10/10 =/= A perfect game. I think they're rated on how good they are based on gameplay, story, visuals, etc.
Fallout and GTA deserve the scores they get, because they're really that good. IDK about uncharted 2 thought because I never played it.

I think crappier games have been coming out and getting higher scores. I mean really gta 4 9.8?

exactly nothing can ever get a perfect score because scoring is relative to the player, also getting 99.99% or 100% game should be totally without flaw.

I will give you that, I usually only read bits and pieces because it seems that they like to talk and interject their life into parts of the review, sorry I am after a review not what william did yesterday.

At the end of the day, games are like movies and down to taste. With regards to the whole SAGA of PS3 vs 360. No surprise the 360 version is "better" due to the game probably leading on the console and porting to ps3, which is always a paid as such different hardware.

just because you didn't like a game, didn't mean lots of other people didn't. Game ratings aren't meant to be taken on a literal scale, where a perfect score leads to a perfect game, but rather should be used as a measure of how enjoyable the game was for the reviewer.

Either way, back on topic: Famitsu didn't give out too many perfect scores until recently, it seems, until 2008, when they gave out three 40s in a year, and now 3 in 2009 as well.

They're either getting more lenient or games are getting more awesome. I guess many of us will get to see soon enough if this game is deserving of the rating Famitsu gave it.
