Dispite Unreal II being a disappointment to some, I actually really enjoyed it.

I am really hoping Epic will annouce Unreal III, that would be huge (and awesome). Come on, something has a challenge Crysis/CE3 right?

Unfortunately it probably is Unreal Engine 3, which I wouldn't be upset by.

One can hope can't he?

If it is the Unreal Engine, then I'll take that bet, as we already know the next Unreal Engine will support Larrabee.

Sorry after the horrific failure of UT3, I just don't think Epic will be innovative,
it's probably just another dumbed down game for console with big stupid characters,
and everything will be brown.

Personally I think of epic as an engine company that happened to work with a few (read: a TON) of other developers to essentially create the PvP FPS experience as we know it with their one hit game. Epic demonstrated that to me again when they released UT3, and the subsequent really good games used their engine, yet weren't carbon copies of UT3 in how they play. It's a flexible engine, and easy to implement, so any new game they throw out these days is going to come with an engine they can sell to the whole industry. IMO.

Epic is releasing an Unreal Engine 3 toolkit to consumers. Its on the G4tv website in the feed section. From what I gather its a dumbed down mod tool so the average joe can make his own skins, weapons, and maps

I'm really liking UT3 again. At first I got bored of it really quickly but then I just had to remember what it is: a twitch shooter. And it's fantastic at being that.

Crossing my fingers for Unreal 3 or Unreal Tournament 4.

And really, the only reason I'm looking forward to those games is because I'm hoping they are going ot go with fully destroyable environments using by using DX11.
