I can bet that Nintendo is finally happy that they are getting some third party support this time unlike 64, and the cube. If developers took their time they can make any game look good. Zelda looks better then some 360 games that came out at launch, Mario is some nice eye candy.
100% agreed. Not Nintendo's fault that they are THE only ones making good games for the system. Too many people are swayed by fancy graphics, but yet, they can go back and play older games and still enjoy them. Games these days seem to be driven to emulate a movie (such as realistic graphics and story line) instead of just being a game that you play for fun (IMO).

I personally use the Wii for its virtual console and for mutliplayer party games. There is NO console out there that can allow any age and gender to have fun in multiplayer like the Wii as far as I'm concerned. I have my PC if I want something to destroy all consoles in graphics

Especially considering most Wii gamers don't own more than 3 games (compared to around 7 for the PS3 and 360)

The Wii console may have been profitable (and it should be considering its nothing more than a die shrunk gamecube), but I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft is making more profit per user.

The Wii would have been more profitable, if it aimed at hardcore gamers as well with great graphics. But no...casual games is their aim.

I don't have one. North American sales are at 25 million right now, so given the average population per household in North America we're looking at 20% of households containing Wiis.

I'd hardly call that market saturation.
Market =/= Population

Just because the entire population of a country doesn't have one, doesn't mean that the market is not saturated.

180 million consoles were sold last generation.

Even in the unlikely case that the market hasn't grown, and all of the Wii owners are console gamers that leaves 130 million more potential customers, yet at 50 million Wii sales are already plummeting.

But of course, as I mentioned, the Wii market is saturated. But that market is the yuppie market, which is much smaller than the console gamer market.

Now that the Wii has exhausted it's primary market sales will drop down to the level of the gamecube, while the PS3 and 360 continue to grow, since there is still a good 150 million potential customers out there for them to fight over.

I bought more games for my Wii then my ps3, but my 360 gets all the attention anyway
