"In the game business, the deterioration in profitability was mainly due to a decrease in PS2 hardware and software unit sales, and the impact of the appreciation of the yen," said the company.

I think now's the time to release PS2 software emulation, and then maybe some more PS3 sales will be made :P

I'm not sure sony gets it..... You know who had a great console and still failed? Sega; with the dreamcast. Too many 'finacial' similarities to be ignored at this point. But i guess we'll see how Sony worms out of this. More than a half billion in the red regarding Network Products & Services Division and sales are down. IMO they are selling something too feature rich, trying to be the 'jack of all trades" and 'Master of None". Ummmm flame on?

Bummer sales were only at 3.9 billion... My wage went down to $14/hr last month, that's the real bummer!

The ps3 has lasted much longer than the dreamcast ever did, its not going anywhere.

The fact that they were both the highest powered consoles on the market at the time is the end of that analogy. Sony has orders of magnitude greater financial clout than Sega has ever had.
