I'm getting the feeling that Doom 4 will be cross-platform with emphasis on current or next generation consoles. It will have this match making business and its priority will be on consoles. I hope I am wrong but I am getting very concerned over recent gaming developments on the PC side.

I personally prefer the match making and "Jump in and play" method of console online gaming, however for the PC I feel that it does not work. I like to have my server lists and modifications.

I do like the way he is not 100% decided on the issue yet but it just sounds like he has noticed all the MW2 backlash since the dedicated servers fiasco and does not want to currently state his true feeling in fear of loosing a large fan base. Please John...do what you know whats best for your loyal fans and not for your publishers wallet (Infinity Ward).

*sigh*. If you want change, you don't just bluntly destroy what already existed and put up something new. If they really think their system is better then why would they have an issue with including both their system and ded servers? That transition would be necessary, but I think the issue is that no one would use their system, because its really not better. The only reason I see for IWNET and w/e id plans on using is just to make more money (Force people to pay for DLC).
