Eh, for a game that's expected to sell at least 10 million copies, generating nearly $600million in revenue for all parties involved... They are giving a pittance of their profit... Besides, what is $1,000,000 going to actually do when there are hundreds of thousands of veterans...

![]() I don't get why everytime a company gets involved with charity people always think it's for selfish reasons. The recent thread about Blizzard donating half of the profits for the new Pet Store to charity got a similar response Donating money does not translate to profits, in fact I seriously doubt it's something they teach in business school. I work for a dealership and in the past when profits were better we were always involved in charitable activities through donations or other means. Not because it made us more than we invested because that wasn't the case, it was because our owner cared to be involved in the community. If it was a cheap way for businesses to turn profits we'd be doing it right now because our business is struggling in this ecconomy!!! When have you ever seen a company on the verge of bankruptcy start donating to charity? I'll tell you when, never because it's not profitable! It can be used to make a companies image look better, in turn having a value in that aspect but I doubt that was their agenda here. The only people against Activision right now is PC gamers and this isn't targeted to making them look good in the eye's of PC gamers. Why bash them for this if it's going to a good cause?

It is better than nothing, in that sense you are right... They would be better off donating that money directly to an existing charity however than starting a new one IMO.

Donating money is a good way to increase your tax write offs and stem the tide of dissenting opinions regarding your intentions for the community.
