Default All Rockband Drummers Check This Out

Ok so tonight I got fed up with the stock rockband pedal and decided to figure out a way to ghetto mod it to my liking. So here is what I ended up doing and it works very well for me. I took 10 3/4 inch felt pads (the ones you put on the bottom of furniture) and put 4 on each side of the orange piece on the underside of the entire assembly. I also put 2 on the top side(still under the actual pedal though) where the 2 rubber pads usually stop the pedal. This makes it have very little play/travel area. I have only had the game for 2 months and tonight after the mod I beat Foreplay Long Time, Tom Sawyer, Vasoline, Ballroom Blitz and some others(on expert).

So hopefully some of you guys try this out also and post back if you like/dislike it. You can always just rip the pads off also if you don't like it.

So that stops the pedal from traveling all the way? Takes up the 'slack'?
So the contact doesn't happen at the bottom?

I am really interested in this... good post

It makes the pedal have a lot less travel room so its much easier to hit the double/triple bass beats in the songs. The ones on the bottom of the entire assembly keep it from pushing back against your foot the whole time too. Making it a lot less tiresome so you can play more songs.

I sent azuritereaction on youtube a message about this also and asked him to test it sometime. Hopefully he gets back to me about it because he rocks. If you don't know who he is I strongly suggest hopping on youtube and searching the name.

Edit:

Also anyone have any tips on how to get better fast? I played lefty mode on hard for awhile today just to try and get some rhythm in my left arm lol. Besides that I don't know what to do. I only have the ps2 version(no downloadable content ) and playing the same songs over and over is getting boring.

A metal what? I've broken my pedal twice now, it's getting a little ridiculous. right now i've got some cardboard and duct tape holding it together. It is pretty comfortable now, responds well, but it's still borken :'(

He means this I think...
http://www.area51moto.com/mega/

I just need to buy/make my own destroyer pedal
http://rockbandpedal.net/index.html

I had to take the 8 pads on the bottom off to beat detroit rock city(took me a long time to beat that one) and now I'm stuck on Don't Fear the Reaper. I honestly felt like breaking the drumset when I got to 84% and failed. God I hate the drums for that song.

I see I see, I may have to look into one of those alternatives.

I can't get the hang of Don't Phear the Reaper either, right there at the end it gets nuts. I can get by just about every other song on expert, and that continues to trip me up.

Also, you think it might be possible to get a splitter and hook up two pedals? get some actual double bass action going on? Haven't had the ability to try it yet, but it would be sweet if that worked.

Hmm, I was watching some more videos of the guy on drums, and in one or the video descriptions, he mentioned a sock mod. Anyone know anything about that?
