Default [FFXIII/Kotaku] Final Fantasy Versus XIII Still PS3 Exclusive

I don't know what the big deal is really. Why people get so worked up about the consoles. Big deal, one person owns a 360 and another owns a PS3. Who... Cares...

If I wanted an XBOX360 that badly, I can simply drive to the store and pick one up.

More money for S-E equals better and bigger games (hopefully ).

True... Guess I'm more relaxed with this whole deal since I got my 80GB PS3 for $220 As long as Developers don't stop supporting PS3, I'm fine. I'm still enjoying MGS4 anyways!

The weird this though, it seems that S-E is shifting towards MS instead of Sony while most of the gamers in Japan are on PS3s, not 360s. I wonder what they are thinking now, with SE taking away PS3 exclusives but leaving the MS exclusives (Infinite Undiscovery, SO4). This should get interesting.

they are both COMPLETELY different games set in the same "universe"
meaning FFXIII is happening the same time Versus is occuring but in seperate locations, they don't intertwine with each other.

I wasn't all that interested in Versus anyway. Spin-off FF games have, without one exeption (Tactics), been crap. Just because Versus is arriving sooner than most spin-offs doesn't make it any less of a spin-off. So although I could be proven wrong, and I might have changed my mind down the roadl; all I care about is the core game.

Although as the second quote points out, FF13 itself was loudly touted as a PS3 exclusive for a long time, with direct questions about it being released on the X360 met with a definite sounding "No". So while I don't disbelieve what they're saying now, I would not be surprised if they change their mind at some point down the road.

Versus is going to be an action RPG. It won't have turn based combat. From what I've heard it will play more similarly to Kingdom Hearts.

They are both in the same universe but follow different characters, stories, etc.

Well seeing as FFXIII is for the PS3 and 360 I'm wondering why Versus doesn't jump ship as well. I know both of the games are completely different, but are they that far apart with the developing teams too?
