The reason I ask is because I look at Craigslist every day and I see several xboxes every day whereas I hardly ever see the PS3. Or is it just there are so many more of the xbox? They are also cheap, I could get one for $250.
__________________I have an xbox( got it here from MrSpock2002, thanks again bro!) and I was looking at the PS3 also, but there are never any and when they are there they are expensive and they get snapped up right away. Or is it just my area? What do yo think?

They are both good systems. I have a ps3 and I like it. One of my best friends has an 360 and he likes it(I like it too).

It's the supply and demand at the moment. Everyone already has an xbox who wants one, and things have been fairly quiet as far as the xbox scene goes.
The ps3 has just had a big exclusive game come out (mgs4), and the 2.4 update with home promised soon. Add that to the increasing amount of bluray's available, and people are starting to get ps3's. It's not that it's a better console (or worse), it's just more in demand atm.

Xbox is by far the cheaper system with cheaper games and from what I hear has a better network. I see more Xbox games for sell or rent than I do PS3. I also see more used and therefore cheaper Xbox games than I do PS3. Not to mention that the PS3 has lost some pretty big exclusive lately that are now on the Xbox. The contollers are even priced differently, 30 for Xbox and 50 for PS3. The biggest question here is are you into bluray?

If my memory serves me right, the PS3 has a cell processor that games haven't been able to utilize yet. Once a game comes out that unleashes that potential it should be sweet. Comparison wise, they're both great systems with individual pros and cons

Yeah the biggest question is, do you need bluray or are you super into MGS4 or SOCOM? Otherwise if the answer is no to both of those questions then get yourself a 360, you won't regret it, and yes Xbox Live is by far the best service out there. (It used to be better with the original xbox, too may little buddies infesting it now, but still top notch.)

If I wanted to be positive, I would say we're already there. MGS4 cleatly pushes the hardware and looks pretty darn good to me (even though I am an admitted MGS hater). If I wanted to be negative, I would say "never". The Cell is a complex architecture, and really squeezing it for every last drop it has to offer may take longer than the shelf life of the PS3! And thinking like a businessman for a moment, it makes less sense to spend more time and money learning the Cell architecture when I could develop for the X360, which is commonly understood to be much easier to develop for? (John Carmack recently discussed this in some interviews I saw posted in the news section.) Personally, I actually take the more positive view: the PS3 has more than a few really good games now. Not as many as the X360, to be sure. But certainly enough for the PS3 fans to stop making excuses about "just wait till XXX comes out"...start defending the console on the titles that are out now guys, not what's (maybe) coming out in six months.

The PS3 is better graphics wise, but so many people own 360s that the online on the 360 is still a bit better than the PS3's

This is a nice little article from the prospective of a game developer, on the 360 vs. PS3, its a bit dated, 1 year or so, but I think it gives you what you are looking for, enjoy~

Vulcan... dude... well said!
Imo, every console has its own plus and minus. The 360 is cheaper, and it has plenty of titles coming out in the near future that I am looking forward to. Also, when you actually play each of the consoles in HDMI in your own home, you will think these things are both genus, so when it comes to eye candy waiting, both consoles provide an amount that will leave you staring at the TV for hours, even in 720p it looks stupendous. I bought a 360 because I am a long time Xbox fan, and I used to mod my old one, both to utilize everything it had to offer, and I found me a way to not pay for games. I will leave the rest of that out, because I do not want trouble. I am hoping they really come up with something less difficult for the 360, because the mod they have for it now is neither official nor easy to install, it is more of a firmware change, something I believe PSP and Xbox gamers really hate. As compared to the Xbox, that had all the different modded dashboards and media centers, and modchips, the 360 has been engineered to withstand any form of hacking (well not really, just the fact that regular folks can't do it like the mod devs can). Those are my... *counting* 15 cents. Enjoy your day, and really, it is up to you which path you want to take, both consoles offer a lot.
