I have not once seen a stoner rapping. But I have seen 12 year olds with names glorifying a pixelated suit of green. Yes they are obnoxious, so what you do? MUTE/UNPLUG HEADSET. I have had a laggy game or too. Really I just quit it off then went searched again and got a spree of 40 unlaggy games. Until I got one host who decided "HEY I'M GONIG TO PLAY XBL WITH DIAL-UP! LOOLOLOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLOOLOLOL I'M SO AWESOME!".
What I wrote above has been my experience more often then not with xbox live. I live on the west coast and usually game after 10pm, if that makes a difference, and in games like cod4 and gears 2 I almost always get really laggy matches.

My brother refuses to play because of this.

Halo3 for some reason almost never gave me a laggy match, but that has been the exception. And imo halo is boring as can be.

Yes I can mute them, but I run into mute worthy subjects almost every time I try to play; contrast this with source games were I almost never have to turn voice chat off.

And muting won't solve the problems of matchmaking and people leaving when they are losing, which I also experience all the time, more often in Halo3 then any other game.

For no monthly fee I get a superior service with steam, mouse and keyboard support, a server browser, and pretty much all the same games, plus some that are not on consoles.

If M$ wants me to buy a 720 they need to drop the monthly fee and host their games on servers like Sony does.

Out of the 15 or so people I know in the real world who have 360's I am the ONLY person who has not got RROD. My cousin Matt had it happen 3 times! And my other cousin Joey had it happen 2x.

3/4 of my friends list (around 50 people) on xboxlive have gotten one.

I would say at this point RROD is almost a certainty on older 360's.

But if you really want to play fps games with a controller, I would say ask yourself what games you want more, Halo3 and Gears 1 and 2(yeah they are 3rd person) or Resistence Fall of Man and Killzone.

Otherwise both systems have the same games. 360 has a crappy pay for online service with terrible server hosting.

All console exclusive FPS are alien shooting games, more realistic games come out on pc too.

But really just play fps on a pc, 1000x better on pc imo.

EDIT: For the price of either console I can build you a very nice gaming pc.

The reason Im trying to get into Consoles is because im sick of spending cash upgrading my rig becaus of more demanding releases e.g Call of Duty 5 and Far cry 2 and Crysis Its just adding up and up and up..
I want a console that never needs more ram or a 4 GHZ processor im just sick of it all...
