Default warcraft III and alcohol 120

ok so my friend downloaded warcraft III and use the legit key i gave him on install. instead of burning to dvd he mounted with alcohol 120. after install when he tried to load it the game said that he needed a cd. so he unmounted and uninstalled alcohol and burned the game to cd with imgburn. Now the game says that he still needs a cd. He then tried installing the latest patch and it wont isntall saying that the game is open.

My question is how should he go about fixing this error? and if anyone knows what registry items does alcohol mess with?

Games like WC3 require securerom which needs to be selected when copying the cd with Alcohol 120. If the iso or whatever you ended up with was not copied with securerom typically the game will not run.

You could have him pick up the battlechest at bestbuy for $40.

Default If it is

A legitimate cd key would let you get on to battle.net and actually the latest battle.net patches don't require a cd in the drive to load and play the game. Just install and patch up to the latest version by logging into battle.net and viola, not having a real cd solved!
