Default Rock Band: Beatles Thread

So who else got Rock Band: Beatles? For what system?

I've got the X360 version. Apparently it came with a download code for a RB:Beatles t-shirt for my avatar...big whoopdie do, no thank you! I made my avatar look like Spock, don't think the t-shirt would look right.

I'm through the Revolver songs on guitar on Expert so far. Figured I had better stop before I got into Sgt. Pepper or I would be there all night. I put the hurt on two "competitors" on Hard too...Hard is actually hard for me sometimes, it just seems to slow when I'm used to Expert!

Really? No one but me bought it on launch day? There were quite a few people that seemed excited about the game over the past few months, I'm truly surprised no one else has picked it up.

A friend of mine bought it on release day, completed it in one evening. Says it's very good, but a bit short in career mode.

I'm not going to pick it up simply because of a couple reasons:

1. I am a GH fanboy and have had bad experiences with RB:2 as it being way too easy for me.

2. The only band game that I feel is worth owning is GH:Metallica. I tried playing Aerosmith and I wanted to kill myself after playing it through. The Beatles definitely have great songs, but at the same time I will not feel challenged <enough> throughout the game for me justifying getting it.

3. Boo Rockband!

Again, these are all IMO but that is just how I see this game playing out. Maybe I'll rent it just to play through the short career once. Def. not worth the buy to me. Have fun!

I am also a GH fanboy, but comparing GH:WT and RB, RB is obvs the better game of the two. I've only played RB:2 once though.

GH Aerosmith was god awful. I only had teh demo, but it was just a **** recreation of the GH3 system before they released the new GH:WT system. GH: Metallica is a great game, although there is something lacking in it in comparison to GH:WT.

"Completed"? He five-starred all 45 songs in guitar, bass, drums, and singing; and then completed the challenges; and got all the achievements too?

Yeah, you can do one reading of the songs quickly in guitar mode, but I don't know that I would call that "completing"! Of course, I'm a Beatles freak and will happily play through all of the songs many, many times...

Eh? Some of those last songs on RB2 were as hard as GH, I thought. I got through GH:WT and GH:Metallica on Expert no problem, but I haven't got a prayer in hell of doing RB2's Painkiller on Expert. I considered that right up there with the stupid-hard stuff from GH3.

Have it, love it. But I can only listen to so much Metallica. And musically, Beatles > Metallica. Maybe Metallica > Beatles in guitar game difficulty, sure...but I don't want to listen to Metallica that often.

You absolutely would not feel challenged. Sounds like you're a pretty good player, and the Beatles note charts are without question easier than anything I've seen before in GH or RB. This is not for hardcore guitar gamers.

But at least for me, the fun of a music game isn't how hard it is, or whether my fingers hurt or my ears bleed when I'm done...it's in how much I enjoy the music. Some of my most enjoyable moments with Rock Band are when I catch myself unconsciously bobbing with the music like I'm a "real" guitarist, or when I didn't mean to but started singing Sgt. Pepper while playing guitar last night. I was just grinning ear to ear I was having so much fun. (My wife thinks I'm a tool.)

Yo. Sup. I bought this game yesterday and decided that its the best game I've ever played. Okay well I might be exaggerating but saying that its the best music/rhythm game I ever played wouldn't be a stretch. I'm really enjoying it. X360 btw.
