Default What joystick?

I'm after a cheap joystick to fly with in BF2 and any upcoming titles such as BF1943 and BC2. I don't need a separate thruster.

How does this rate:

The x52 is a nicer one if you can afford it...

I have the non-pro version... looks very similar

Yea, I don't want a separate thruster. Space is too limited. I'd just use my keyboard for acceleration and rudder.

Don't want to put you off or anything. I would research if that Cyborg has known issues. I purchased a Saitek X52 without reading what problems it has and I had a lovely surprise.

Have a look on the following :

1. Calibration issues
2. Compatibility with your current system
3. Solutions for :
3.1 Calibration issues
3.2 Compatibility with your system.

Saitek is famous for surprises.

My advice based on my own experience. Please do not take this post as an anti-Saitek comment. Far from it, I just want to raise awareness about some aspects when purchasing a stick like that.

Problems with it being recognised on Windows 7?

Not with mine. Never had an issue... How ever, most joysticks have the rudder, by twisting the joystick...

Are they easy to learn? I mean, I tried one a while back (albeit a crap model and not for long) and found it very, very hard. I have flown successfully with keyboard for the last few years, but my latest board has multiple key press issues rendering it useless.

I am happy you had a fully working one and no :

1. Mouse drift, full shut down to solve the problem
2. Calibration issues. Plane would go up, down, left, right on its own.
3. Failure to calibrate even with registry trick
4. Freezes with my Logitech Pro Keyboard
5. Failure to load profiles on start-up.

I hope the OP is as lucky as you .

Well, you really don't need the rudder except taxing tail dragers... Ailerons and elevator work just fine for turning...
