Unofficial Tekken 6 Thread

Okay first things first. The online play is atrocious, a friend and I went to Wal-mart and got this game at midnight. We tried to do some online play(we live about 5 miles apart) and I dropped probably 90 percent of my combo's due to lag. That is unacceptable, however I still have high hopes as KoF12 had unacceptable lag, and the community banded together and got it patched. Oh and Tekken has a MUCH larger community than KoF 12.

The Scenario mode is where pretty much all the Trophies / Achievments are received. I hate this, I hate gimmics in my fighting games. This is essentially Tekken force mode from Tekken 4 with weapons. I hate it.

Now on to the meat of all fighters. The balance. This game is amazing when it comes to cast of characters and balance. There are 40 characters and they all have unique styles. The combos are long, impressive, and when you think they are over they are not thanks to the new "bound" mechanic. I can see any character on the roster winning the majors in the states. There are tiers but from what I have read and seen they don't really matter as much as say in SF4 or Blazblue.

I always liked the tekken series up until the 3rd one. Im personally a street fighter fan but was not impressed by the latest one out. So are you saying that there are lag issues with the actual game play online or just you're connection is bad?

Nothing wrong with our connections mine is straight from the modem into the ps3. Just really laggy online play Tekken DR online had better online play. SF4, Blazblue and now KoF12 have amazing online play Tekken 6 just doesn't. Like I said though I'm sure it will be patched in a couple of weeks. From what I can gather it's just poorly written net code. It's a pretty big complaint from the Zaibatsu community.

Depends. They are completely different art styles, but the short answer is yes.

teken tag is my cup of tea. street fighter 3rd strike over number 4. and marvel vs capcom 2 . the legends will never die, new school keep on getting more worst for some reason.

You can't really compare Tekken to Street Fighter. SF is a game that's based on spacing, footsies, projectiles and throws. Tekken is based on punishing, juggles, side stepping, and mind games. Each are great, I think for the moment I prefer Tekken but again it did come out 2 days ago lol.
