Eyes don't see in a framerate, but there is a max framerate that they can pick up though. It is probably really high like something around 1000fps.

anything under 30fps is not really playable,
btw 30-60 is best playable
anything above 60 is the BEST you can have

and eyes can only "pick up" to around 60fps,thats y anything over 60 is pefect gameplay etc
it depends on the game and on ur graphics power

example,
in css there is the command "fps_max "number" to set an fps maximum(standart is 300), so like me playing w my gtx 260 i get up over 1k fps on certains maps,
on other maps tho i "only" get around 300
so it really depends on the game and your graphics power

Duckie had a good post on this, it depends on both the monitor refresh rate and response time, either case it would be hard to see any difference 150fps+, that is not counting other things such as input delay.

I notice a difference between 30fps and 60fps on my 60Hz lcd monitor. Much choppier at 30fps vs. really smooth at 60fps. Would 60fps look choppy on an 120Hz lcd monitor?

20 fps in crysis looks smooth to me. But if I wereplaying css at 20, then I would probably have to kill myself.

The human eye can only detect 60 FPS, so as long as it's 60, no problem's with me.

You really can't tell the difference between 500 FPS to 85 FPS.
