60 FPS is the sweet spot for me. I leave vsync on.

Again with the stupid FPS questions...

Yet I've only seen one with the TFT+100FPS comment here...

Hz=FPS limit
Vsync=better image quality (I don't see screen tearing as an increased quality setting).

Games that suffer input lag on vsync are badly coded and aren't "good" enough to handle it.

I like to have at least 60fps for games, otherwise it doesnt feel smooth on the mouse to me. 30fps really annoys me. and i see no point in locking it. there seems to be alot of solid facts around about fps and refresh rate etc but i dont think its an exact science, its all down to an individuals preferance and even skill levels in a game etc.

When turning in a FPS 30fps vs 60fps+ is very noticable for me. Not so much walking forward but when I turn left to right with high sensetivity it's very noticable in terms smoothness and clarity.

30fps vs 60fps is also very noticable on racing games. It feels so much more fluid and natural visually.

It seems that anything related to speed looks much better w/60fps+

You get adjusted to a FPS - without consciously looking for it, you wouldn't notice unless the FPS occasionally jumped to 60 then back to 30 or something. Once you know what some framerates look like, you can tell the FPS even if it isn't changing all the time... but 30 FPS shouldn't bother anyone, not even those who know what 30 FPS look like. It shouldn't seem choppy to you as long as there aren't any high FPS segments thrown in.

You really can't tell the difference between 500 FPS to 85 FPS.
There's no hard limit, and no soft limit has been found. In a way, our eyes are more limited by 'response time' than something like a hard FPS limit, in that the faster the motion is, the more blurred it will be. A hawk's eyes, for example, have a higher threshold for when things become too blurry to be able to make out detail. It's a bit like how motion on any LCD screen (even those with fast response times) causes blurring.
