Looking to upgrade from my 4870x2. Preferably to Nvidia this time.

If you want an nVidia card, I would wait another month or two until the 300 series comes out.

You can't go from ATI to nVidia and have it be an upgrade right now unless you get a GTX 295. Do you mean should you upgrade when Fermi comes out? My response to that would be to wait and see how Fermi performs.

I don't believe the performance increase would be worth an upgrade until fermi comes out, hopefully in a month or two.

It's the new GPU that Nvidia is apparently releasing. With speculation at hand I don't think it'll be out until Q2 2010.
