Ryan-IW: Hello everyone I'm Ryan Lastimosa. I'm an artist and blah blah blah. I draw crap, which makes me qualified to answer development questions.

Provolown: What are the main differences between Headquarters Pro in Modern Warfare 2 and Headquarters from Call of Duty 4?

Ryan-IW: HQ Pro utilizes a timer that kicks in right when the HQ appears, allowing players to set up a strategy to take the HQ before it comes online. However, developing a strategy will be tough since you're going to be thrown in with random people and there's no party chat. Most strategy planning sessions will comprise of 'I'M A SNIPER I'M A SNIPER' followed by some team kills.

Mackey-IW: To mon3ymak3r4812 Mon3ymak3r4812: After you use the 25 kill streak, I've been with IW since day 1. This will make it very easy for aimbots to end every map within a few seconds.

samahh: If any, what are the differences between the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of this game?

Ryan-IW: To samahh The experiences on both platforms are AWESOME! So there isn't a difference between the PS3 or 360 versions. I notice you didn't ask about the PC version.

Satan: Very good. We are progressing nicely.

bnogradi28: Can you go into more depth about the third-person mode and how you will be able to use it.

Mackey-IW: 3rd person is limited to a few playlists, and it's always enabled for all players when you're in such a playlist. It's a lot of fun to have been with IW since day 1. It's also good for people who don't like real FPS games, which don't actually play very well on consoles so we compensate with autoaim and such. Third person view adds some cool features like seeing where it is impossible to see.

nkrull: Is the tactical nuke an immedeate win for your team as it is shown in one video?

ModernWarfare69: Where did you get the ideas for the weapons from?

Ryan-IW: To ModernWarfare69 We made them up with our imagination. Are you retarded? They're real guns. Jesus.

Ryan-IW: Yes, the tactical nuke is an 'immedeate' win. Hey, Aaron, do we have any freakin' screeners here? Are these all 12 year olds or something?

xxTex: Can explain how IW.net works for the PC platform?

Mackey-IW: It doesn't. Next question.

LeachKing4: what new game modes will be introduced?

Ryan-IW: To LeachKing4 In MP, a new game mode we have is Demolition. I'd have to say its one of my personal favorites as one team's objective is to detonate two targets. It gets really heavy when one target is detonated and all the focus is shifted to one target, leading to all kinds of crazy moments you'd see in only in MW2 or any number of other generic shooters.

Mackey-IW: Currently the only classic map available in MW2 is Wasteland, which is based on the popular Call of Duty 1 map, Brecourt.

Mackey-IW: Which was one of my favorite CoD maps, personally.

Mackey-IW: If you'll remember, I was with IW since day 1.

Mackey-IW: MW2 supports games from 1v1 in Cagematch all the way up to 9v9 in the Ground War playlist. Imagine that. Nine players on EACH SIDE. That's EIGHTEEN PEOPLE at once. Isn't that insane? I was with IW since day 1.

Josh111: PC Question... What will the max amount of players per map be for PC multiplayer on IW.net

GeneralClean: With the new IW.net, how many players can it support at one time with each server set-up, 8 vs 8, 12 vs 12, 16 vs 16, and how much bandwidth are we talking about per player basis, Upload and Download?

Vince-IW: 9v9. This should be adequate if you don't like PCs and are not going to use one to play.

Mackey-IW: The max number of players on all platforms are 1v1 through 9v9. This is the number of players we focused on when we were balancing map size, perks, classes, challenges, etc. We didn't feel like had to balance the game for actual game sizes that happen on PCs. I was with IW since day 1.

toxicinzanity: first id like to say thank you ohh gods of IW for giving me a reason to skip school. i would like to if there will be juggernaugt?

Ryan-IW: First of all toxicinzanity, you should'nt skip school. I did, and luk where it got me. In response to your question, we have a deathstreak called "painkiller" that gives you a few seconds of more health. So in short, no. Unless you suck.

MW2Fan: If my computer can handle COD World at War, Can it handle MW2

Vince-IW: System Requirements: XBox 360 or PS3. We haven't tried it on PC yet.

pittboss: will the private multiplayer matches for the pc be run as a p2p connections or are they run via the IWnet?

Deaths_head: Is there any type of character customization in the multiplayer?

Ryan-IW: Your character is specific to the class that you decide to choose. Wait, that just means... no. There's no customization at all.

Mackey-IW: IWNet matches players together based on several factors including ping and skill. We don't trust players to use their own judgment and get involved in communities. Remember, I was with IW since day 1.

Sickology: This has probably been asked before. But what's up with the pot leafs in the Callsigns?

Ryan-IW: ...like, what? Heh. Heh.

xxTex: What are the types of features that IW.net offers for PC players?

Mackey-IW: Don't know. We haven't tried it. IW. Day 1.

homie_wanna_liv: On the subject of single player are there any levels that are time restrictive like "No Fighting in the War Room" or "Mile High Club"? (are they as intense as the ones stated)

Laugh: Is there a console in the PC version of the game, so we can change our field of view from the xbox's default 65 FOV to 80 also can we tweaks the weapon damage for each gun, removes perks, graphical debris, breathing sway, also thru console like we where able to before or is this all gone?

Vince-IW: We would like you to play the game the way we designed and balanced it. Customization is unacceptable, as modding may cut into our bottom line. Twenty minutes with an SDK and somebody could create MW3 before we have a chance to push it out the door and charge $65 a piece for it.

Ryan-IW: Objectives! Team based! Competitive coop! Buzzwords!

QCskater93: Will we be able to turn off in game music? And can we mute people in the lobby in MP now?

Mackey-IW: IW. Day 1. I was there.

TheNinthAxis: If you charge for PC dlc will it be released at the same time as the consoles.

Vince-IW: We honestly haven't put much thought into DLC for any platform yet. We don't need to, because it'll take us about 5 minutes to make something we can push out the door at $10.

LeachKing4: How many new weapons will be introduced in campaign? anything you can say about them?

zackattack300: Is iw.net laggy? Has it been tested in the sahara on dial-up while downloading 3gig files and running antivirus with less than 200 ping? Hope so, it'll need it.

Vince-IW: What? What's iw.net? Oh, that PC thing. I don't know.

Ryan-IW: There are a **bleep** ton of weapons in MW2.

maniac1969: How are PC gaming clans going to uphold their clan rules in the IW-net system? Are you going to give admin rights to gaming rooms so that admins can Kick or Ban players who refuse to follow clan rules? For example, {MRoA} servers prohibit racial comments from guest and/or clan members...

Saucy: Will the DLC for PC version cost anything?

Vince-IW: No idea yet. Maniac, I'm completely ignoring your question. Shut up.

MW2cody: What can we expect in campaign? and IW You Guys are Awesome for Making another Game of the year!

Vince-IW: It's like, you play this guy, who's a soldier, and you shoot bad guys. It's highly innovative and original.

xxTex: Will IW.net require players to pay for downloadable content, updates or just to play the game?

Vince-IW: No. You don't use IW.net on consoles.

bnogradi28: Will third-person be in Spec Ops or Single Player? Is there any trailers out showcasing third-person gameplay in any way?

Mackey-IW: Since day 1 in IW, I have been. In response to the PC clan question: No. You'll either play with friends you have already, or have to deal with little @@#^@#&'s all the time while TRYING to meet some new players. Screw community.

Ryan-IW: Third person? Oh, right. Yeah whatever. Wooo MW2!

Futurefighter: Im kind of skeptical on the use of sentry guns in the MP. Can you explain them and tell us how you plan to balance them out?

ulukai: Will it be possible to use "lean" in the pc version, can we chat like in cod4 and is there any x-fire system to join friends allready playing ?

Vince-IW: Since we use steam for the PC version you have access to your Steam friends list. Which isn't linked to IW.net, so it won't really do anything for you except make your overlay pop up if you're pressing shift to walk and press tab for the scoreboard.

MW2Fan: Total, how long is the soundtrack in MW2?

Mackey-IW: Well, since I've been with IW since day 1, that's a great question. Next.

liltc64: is it only snow mobile raceing or can u have more cars to race with = )?

Vince-IW: Only snowmobiles currently, but fun! Racing is high on our list of things that a combat FPS needs to have in order to succeed. It's absolutely essential.

toxicinzanity: is the knifeing any diffrent in this one?

Mackey-IW: Well, since day 1, I've been with IW. Also, there's a new feature where if you double tap your knife key, you can slit your own wrists. We found this to be a necessary release after gamers realized what they were paying for.

The3rdNipple: Using steam (which I have been for years) if I were to reformat my computer and redownload the game will my online profile be stored with steam? For instance, if I was level 24 and had all my classes and perks set, would they be saved online and brought back once I redownloaded?

Vince-IW: Steam isn't on consoles yet is it?

kaRMa: Regarding the PC version, will all games be hosted by players or just private matches? And will the host have a zero ping advantage?

Mackey-IW: We put a lot of work into making the game tolerant of latency, which is important seeing as I was with IW since day 1. In my personal experience it is not obvious which player is host. Granted, my experience is zero, since we don't even have PCs here at IW anymore. Since day 1 baby.

Stormbringer: If a game on IW.net is hosted by a player would that player not then have an unfair advantage in terms of network latency?

Mackey-IW: Wow, I'm seriously just going to copy and paste what I just typed. Shut up.

The inspiration behind so many inclusions to MW2's MP was basically the fun factor. We'll look at something we did in the past and say "Wouldn't it be fun if we *insert blank here*". With MW2 we had the chance to do a lot of just that. We implemented things that at first were very experimental and unbalanced, but through time and hours and weeks of testing and balancing, we came out with something amazing.

damn wish I was present so I could give them a piece of my mind about their publisher getting me banned off Youtube.

But - I'm still buying MW2 for the 360 and PC. The singleplayer alone is WELL worth it. The ending is amazing.

The IW's comment is the ironic part though. "First of all toxicinzanity, you should'nt skip school. Trust us at IW, school is really important!" He/she uses the vocabulary of someone who dropped out of high school, and (even if it's a typo, I find it funny) "shouldn't" is spelled should'nt. Then he/she proceeds to say that "at IW, school is really important!"
