I'm looking for a motherboard and CPU to throw together for an ultra-cheap HTPC for the dorm next semester (the goal is to have a 720p capable machine).

Looking for mATX mobo for sockets: 939, whatever's next in AMD's line, 478, 775
(and cpu if you have that too)
with 1x PCI-E, x1 PCI, LAN
I have ~$30 to spend.

I also have a P3 system to trade from an older compaq (no PCI or AGP at all)

i have a nice s478 celeronD @ 2.66ghz if you can find a mobo for it (i think the one it's in is dead ). 10 shipped conUS if you're interested (pm me)

i think some other member was selling a nice asus s478 mATX for ~15 if you can find it (check the for sale section).

Hmmmm, thanks blade, I'll keep that in mind...I'd like to have a board before I buy a chip though. And that 478 mATX had been sold by the time I found it.

i got 939 mobo and you can pick 3500 or 3700

the mobo is from HP and has 1 PCI-E x16, x1, 2 pci

onboard video out too and based on ATI chipset

It turns on but none of the ports are tested.

If interested, i can install windows on it and test connectors
