Hey peeps,
I've got me ds3, e6300, 2gb of xms2, 500w hp, 7900gt, and 2 160gb caviers. Ran them for the week at 3.45ghz on stock cooling, in raid. Now im ready to slap my tdx / maze4 chipset / BIX3 / D4 / cheapo vynil thats not all that cheapo. I got some questions, and some problems. Problems first - the bastard of a seller i got the blocks from only included 3 bolts for the tdx, 4 nuts and 5 washers instead of 4 bolts, 8 nuts and a myriad of washers. My question is, will the 4th bolt matter? Seems fine to me with only 3 bolts installed. Also, the chipset block he promised would fit my 965 is actually an 865/875 block... a maze4. Obviously, it doesnt fit. My question - i can drill the hole myself, but im just a wee bit afraid of cracking the plexi. Is there anyway to ensure it doesnt crack? Now, the actual installation question : Should i install all the blocks onto the mobo first, and then fill it up and let it rip, or plug the blocks in, fill everything, make sure its all leakfree, and THEN install the blocks on.. which wouldn't be much of a pain... except the chipset block since i dont know how i'll b installing it yet. Anywhoo, the other thing. My pump is almost at the top of the loop, with only the rad above it. Both blocks are waaaay below. I'm doing this in a custom 6 5.25" bay case btw... so my question, i got a y-splitter to connect my t-line in there, will leaving the t-line OPEN be bad??? Do i have to seal it? If so... can i just use an extra barb i have here, and stuff something into it to make it sealed ?Thnx guys! |

You should leak test first. Then hook it up.

return all the stuff you got from the guy and get stuff that works, and you know is right. IMO. Especially with water cooling don't do things half assed. It could wreak your whole rig.

If you want to drill in the plexi, put it on a piece of wood and cut down.

You need to leak test.... Yes you can just fold your tubing up and zip-tie it or something..I wouldn't leave it open.... Like has been said put a piece of wood under the plexi...Try running your drill in reverse when you drill it..It goes slower and kind of melts it's way through....But it is also a lot less likely to crack it...
