Ok I am trying to decide is it worth it to run a shroud .. my dad was just telling me it is pretty much redundant running one for the amount of performance gain you will get out of it ... really I don't know

depends on the amount of airflow you have from your fans and if your current setup is sealed up tight...
The airtight seal and the gap are the advantages to the shroud....more airflow, less resistence. My fans are teh pwn...I dont see a reason to put one on mine, course, 2 x 130cfm is sometimes too much for most folks. ![]()

er does it mean I'm pedo?
|
i have generic fans running pretty slow so i need the seal and funneling a shroud nets me, otherwise it just does crap for me just zip-tied to my rad.
but since you've got some decent fans you probly wont see much of a differnce w/ or w/o a shroud. but then again i'm assuming u've got a BIX or something similar, i'm on a heatercore XD.

that should work i think you can get some weatherstripping from a local hardware/DIY store, you can take something to space it off from the rad, right along the mounting screws ought to do the trick.
the only reason i run mine slow is that they're loud at full blast. keep them a hair below annoying.
