Wink Well, including a SilenX fan....

Just the parts i mean, not the labor lol.

I'm really wanting water cooled penryn next year : ]
Excluding shipping charges:

DB-1 $50
PA 160 $100
FuZion $70
Primochill $20
Dye $8
Tubing $7
Clamps $3
FilPort $20
Fittings $3
AlphaCool Bullseye Reservoir Rev. 2 (of POV) $80
Sub total $281

add about $45 for shipping as these parts are from various vendors.

$326

You could eliminate the reservoir and FilPort without effect the perfromance shaving $100 off the price--so for about $220 you have state of the art single loop.

Oh and of course add a SilenX fan

$20 for a 90cfm and you would be in fat city.

Total: $346.

I am using three fans ATM--one to cool the Raptor one to cool the Chipset and one to cool the radiator--however in an enclosure a single fan would suffice...

FOr the purposes of keeping the fins of the raddust free I reccommend Push rather than pull--as I have it now...I am pulling because I do not want to have the fan blowing at me...

Default Fan? We don't need no stinking fan!

I turned the fan down to it's lowest possible speed with a lil controller--turning over at 897 rpm--and even overclocked to 3.1 ghz and FOlding at 100% load the CPU is only 46C

The chipset does need air though...as the mobo rapidly rises in temp until it is at the same temp as the CPU...with fan it is 10 C lower...

Sweet.

That NB does get hot, i tried running it without that little fan and it was a no go.

Me thinks the fatal1ty board leaves more to be desired in the NB cooling department.

My ambient varies between 25C and 27C

I am running 1.3875 to the Vcore but CPU ID reports 1.31 as does Asus Probe.

With fan on full for several hours temps are now stabilized at 39C

Mobo temps and CPU temps stay within a few C of each other.

CyberD, any chance we could get a run-off between the DB-1 and the D5?

I'm tossed up between going WC now or not. Looking at a DB-1 and Fuzion WB as well.

Looks nice.

I suppose...I'd have to drain the loop and cut off the pinch clamps...I would definitely need to pull the mobo first...

Give me a day or two..I kinda am enjoying having such a fast Folding rig up and running. I had to decom ICE

How about this--I want to improve the tech station anyway--as it is little more than a mobo tray with stuff around it--I have some aluminum laying around--so when I get ready to take it apart and rebuild it I will switch out the pumps...

But I think it would be a good test--I also want to see if temps drop by adding a second DB-1 on the other side of the loop. Considering the MCP 655 or D-5 are about twice the price of a DB-1 it might be that 2 DB-1 outperform a single MCP-655...

If it's going to be too much of a hassle, forget it. But it would be a helluva comparison, because I am in the market for a new pump sometime soon Thanks!
