EDIT: I just found out what the wattage rating is on these bad boys..No wonder they cool even with those little fans...480 GTX Wattage Rating
Bad linky above ... missing the "water-cooling" prefix ... anyway, I'll just quote it here for all to oggle over !

Well I e-mailed Hardware Labs to find out the wattage rating for the 480 GTX..I told them I was going to have a 437W TEC in my loop and I wanted to add another 188W GPU also...I told them I had 8-100+ cfm fans on it in a push-pull...Their answer amazed me frankly, I've been hearing that it was a 1800W rad which I thought was a lot...This is what they rate this rad for in stealth mode, in other words with quiet fans.....Good to know I do want to add a Swifty MC60 TEC block...

Greetings Ira.

The GTX 480 would be more than adequate to handle that.

Its actually rated for 2200W conservatively in stealth mode operation. But its fairly capable of dissipating far more than that depending on the fans used.

I do hope this helps.

Happy modding.
Thanks for the information ira-k ! Good to know I'm covered on my loops !

and that wattage rating.. that's with how large a deltaT coolant/air?
pretty impressive nonetheless though.

Thanks Joe...I didn't notice it...I see you have already seen the other thread...Yeah thats a goodly amount of heat dissipation...I guess thats why in passive and with the little fans it still cools decently.....Any rad they tell you you can run a 437W TEC and a 188W GPU TEC in the same loop is amazing....

skeptical about shrouds? It just makes sense! It pulls the fans further back allowing the heat to be pulled away easier and reduces the dead spot behind/in front of fans

Can't wait for part 3!!! Hurry up ira

Thanks...Next test I'm going to try a 500W load on it with 4 of the little 125x25mm 47cfm Yate Loons just to see what kind of delta I can get...I was getting a 7.3C delta with 320W so I doubt I can keep it under 10C with 500W, but its something to do I guess......I really need to get 4 of the 69cfm or the 85cfm Pana's and see what they do that would be more typical of the average OC'er then my 115 Pana or the ultra low cfm YL's....

hmm I bet (really hope) a 360GTX could hold a 320W load (about what I'm expecting) within a 10C delta or less with Panas. Could afford to turn them all the way down .

Well it held a 7C delta with the YL on a 480 with around 320W so it should...Turn them up to 12V and get some cooling going on...
