Are you a hardcore WaterHead? Do you study flow charts and become agitated when new waterblocks hit the market? Do you fantasize about a totally Liquid Cooled PC? Is Ira-K your personal hero?
This thread might be of some interest to you then. I decided to stop thinking about it and just build the most powerful/quiet/elegant external LC unit on the planet. It will incorporate the best features of all the LC kits but use only the best components. It will have a USB SW interface as well as a hardwired interface and numerous redundant Failsafe systems to ensure no catastrophes. No offense--Waterkeg III is a nice unit...and some of the Koolance and Aqua Computer external units have good points to them--but they simply are not good enough for me. I want an external LC unit that is nearly silent with extreme flow characteristics capable of handling as many waterblocks as you might want to put on the loop. I want it to have temperature controlled fans that do not rely on SW or an OS, but still have an interface in a Window's environment. I want it to have Failsafes so that there is no way to harm the PC. And I want it to look absolutely stunning as it does it ![]() The core of the unit is the Iwaki RD 30 and Mean Well 24V Switching PSU that runs it. Never having used one of these yet I am going by data and reviews...apparently this pump is the equivalent of 4 or 5 MCP655 pumps ...so it should be capable of either cooling everything on a rig or maybe even multiple rigs...The first rad I am going to test for this prototype is the Thermochill PA120.3 I have had such great results with the numerous PA 160 loops I have built that I just can't bring myself to go with any other make. I also want to use relatively quiet fans so this low restriction rad is best suited to that aim. For starters I will try out 6 Panaflo High Speed fans and see where that goes. Every part for this crazy project except the fittings for the tubing and the relays has already been purchased...the price tag on this build is going to be staggering. I see no reason why OverClock.Net should not lead the way with the best LCers/Phasers/Modders/WR OCers...so I am just doing my part to raise the bar ![]() Stay tuned...I will be updating this thread as parts arrive and I begin fabrication of CyberDruid's Monolith lazy monkies cheat

Will it have the same effects at the Monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey?

you know, why dont you add some noise dampening mats on the fan shroud or the fan grills by cutting them to fit and then integrate them in somehow? Or for the pump just make a custom box to fit and add noise dampening mat to that as well, just an idea, dont know if its good just my imagination talking here.

this project is going to be amazing... when you're done with it you should mak a budget version so real people can buy it
and that pump sounds intense. cant wait to see how you run the lines to maintain performance for and external unitsubscribed
