I must start off by saying it has been quite a journey. I have spent months researching the parts and water
cooling equipment and collecting all of my components. Up Front I would like to thank everyone that has helped me so much here at OCN: Ira-K (aka the master!), Martin, Dryad, Pook, Pope, Duckie, CyberDruid, da9pwns, kenny, wh3els, trendy, apollo, squeekr, 0rioni, all the Erics, and many more (don't remember or can't find your names now, but I remember your avatars )![]() Also would like to thank: ncspec for the pump, petra's tech shop (amazing!), newegg, and jab-tech (super fast 2 day shipping!) for the parts! Computer Specs:
Cooling:
We start off with my old computer (specs in sig under 'fragile') ![]() ![]() ![]() Week 1 Highlights: Now the fun begins, Out with the old, in with the New! ![]() Testing my setup on stock air just to make sure it boots and works! (Still having trouble with booting to OS, scroll to the bottom for details and my help me thread.) Case modding: (the tough work) ![]() First thing I ever cut with my handy dandy XPR 400 Dremel!! Second thing: ![]() Holes behind the motherboard to route my Wires and USB/Audio/Power Button Cables, etc.... ![]() Every time I tried to drill stuff, it would die half way and had to be recharged . Finally on my 2nd to last day of drilling the charger broke!!! And it's now officially retired for the time being.![]() That's where my new toy comes in. Brand new 6.5 amp Rigid drill! (So much more power than the cordless 14.4 V Sears POS) ![]() Holes for Back fan and 12V (?) Power for CPU to the motherboard. ![]() Holes on the side for wires. Right for wires. Left initially for tubing. But I realized that I couldn't fit the MCP655 Pump and Hard Drive Cage. So It's useless now.![]() Was worried about drilling the holes in the back for the tubing. Since I have a spade wood drill bit to drill all my holes (didn't want to get a hole saw lol) ![]() Turned out ok! Looks so clean with grommets (which took forever to find at HD, but found it instantly at Fry's) Well That concludes the Case Modding! ![]() Can't believe I can't find any of my empty modded case pics, too late now! Week 2 (8/17/07) Highlights : ![]() SLACR Q6600 CPU About to be mounted![]() ![]() ![]() It's post time! ![]() Beautiful Block! ATi 2900XT Time ![]() ![]() First step in taking it apart, 2 little screws on the end exposes the back plate (X) ![]() Which exposes the front ![]() ![]() After being cleaned, this thing has a lapped mirror finish, if you look closely, you can see the reflection of the post in the upper right corner. ![]() The MCW60 G80 Adapter definitely does NOT fit. It's way off. Don't know what Swiftech was thinking. I just found out they came out with a A2900 Adapter for the card, too bad it's not for sale anywhere yet. Would've made things easier. ![]() Here it is correctly mounted with the nvidia/ati X mount (fits almost perfectly) Here's a sneak peak at the final with ramsinks: ![]() Noise Testing with fans only: ![]() More pictures here: dr4gon's work log gallery And if you can, please help me figure out why I cannot boot to my SATA hard drive on my new mobo/cpu. I can boot with my IDE hard drive and dual boot into the SATA, but not directly. I get an "error loading operating system." My thread here Current Status: 8/26, Computer Now done!Have any questions? Post them here and I'll be thrilled to answer them as best I can.

Continuing....
Leak Test Pictures: ![]() What would I do without the smart coils? You can make any bend you want to! (too bad Petra's doesn't have the clear )![]() ![]() ![]() So pretty! ![]() ![]() "I bleed it out ..... " ![]() ![]() ![]() No more blood ![]() ![]() ![]() Stupid ramsink keeps falling off. Week 3:

... and now for my 1000th post, I present my final pictures after I spent a bit of yesterday morning straightening and hiding wires.
__________________http://www.dr4gon.net/ocn/final/gallery/ My 1200mm room fan , helps a hair during the hot summer days (need more CFM!)2GB of my OCZ Platinum DDR2 (Other 2 was in my computer) We ride 1 inches , look at that clearance! My side panels on both sides have some pax mate acoustic foam to reduce hard drive, pump, and power supply noises in the lower level. ![]() My Hidden Mess Another Picture for Zera ![]() Case Closed! .... well almost Yay it's only taken me 1000 posts to finalize my computer! Benchmarks! ![]() Not the best picture (doesn't represent the true color because of the flash) All Stock: Stock CPU and GPU Overclocked with Overdrive (858/900) ![]() Overclocked CPU to 3.4Ghz and GPU at stock: ![]() CPU @ 3.4Ghz and GPU at 858/900 ![]() CPU @ 3.4Ghz and GPU at 858/990(Only a slight bump) ![]() CPU @ 3.4 and GPU at 875/990 (Large bump from upping the core) ![]() Folding in the afternoon on all fours, gets hot! ![]() ![]() Random 3dmark05 while folding @ 100% on all 4 cores ![]() Things I've learned thus far:
My memory clocks on the card seem to be limited (I'm guessing because of the ramsinks and not a full block). I'm still not sure how high I can take my GPU and my CPU because I haven't had the time and don't want to risk it. MY GPU is way below when I started ... but my CPU gets up to 60C (Intel says it's good up to 70C). Final Thoughts: I will definitely be upgrading the radiator in the future (maybe around Christmas when I get more time) to either an MCR320 or a Black Ice GTS 360 or whatever is good that might be released until then. I am looking for something suitable for Scythe SFF21F 70CFM Fans. ... I will be adding more benchmarks if people request it (for games and such).

Its starting to look like Wc'ing...Let that TIM burn in a little and you can start jacking up the V-Core...
...EDIT: There are the rest of the pic's...And I'd just nail on those ram sinks... ..Or get some thermal adhesive....
