First I had the original nylon 1/2" elbow that I would suspect most people would initially buy for an elbow. Second we have the very nice looking and better performing DD elbow (Thanks to Duckie), and last while at Home Depot this morning I picked up one of these copper elbows just for fun.
Excuse the poor pipe sweating job there...need more practice, but it was leakproof. ![]() Opening comparison: ![]() And the results: The copper elbow now takes the lead away from the straight 1/2" Tee fitting as being least restrictive. I knew it would be less restrictive, just didn't expect how much so. I guess that gradual radius bend and large ID make all the difference. In other words 1 nylon elbow = 9 copper elbows. You can go to town with the copper elbows and not even phase your flow rate. ![]() And this is what I actually went to Home Depot for. Bought some 1/2" copper tubing, and fabricated this Wye fitting. Large ID, tight merge angle, and copper goodness ready for the Stinger.. ![]() Note this is 7/16"ID x 5/8" OD Masterkleer on the copper 1/2" (Just takes a little prestreaching with plyers and it slips on just fine.

Great info! It's good to know this type of thing. I expected the copper to win but not by 9 times!

Yeah, kind of suprised me to, but even the Derlin 90 has a sharp interior. The copper 90 is just more of a bend, and inside diameter of 1/2" copper tubing is actually closer to 9/16". Also because the ID is larger than that of the tubing and the walls are very thin, you don't get the losses of the step down.
Anyhow, I've got my wye fitting that I wanted now, ready to finally try out the stinger.

Hey Martin, does it matter which way the Delrin elbow is used? One end is longer than the other? Awesome research.

I have used the all copper 90's for some time now..worked great to shorted some tubing on my gpu block. I never would have guessed the results were so one-sided though. Rep+..nice job.
