Don't feel bad it confuses a lot of people thats why I took pic's of the wiring, I have a hard time explaining to people how to do the connections when its really pretty easy to do...

How about a diagram? This is a relay with an optional on/off switch:

If they knew how to read that they would know how to wire up a relay...

I uh, kinda rember that from Physics. I never got to take Circuits before I changed I changed majors. it looks like a series where the first PSU is activated when the switch is closed and the relay sends part of the voltage to the second PSU that would be my guess. but hey, I'm a n00b

Right..These are DC to AC relays I'm using...So when the controller DC source comes on, in my case the comp PSU the normally open relay closes on the AC side and lets current travel to the AC run device..Its just a switch... And like you were asking before you could use a time delay but its just a more complicated circuit and I like to keep it as basic as I can on my rigs...I'm not that great on circuits myself... ...So the more basic I keep it the more reliable it will be for me....

True enough. I think time delay would also suck in a day of repeated power outs.... I'm guessing it would be a highly resistive or switching circuit, it sounds kinda dangerous....

You could make it work OK I just think it would be more trouble then its worth...
I just did this thread so when guys ask how to wire up a relay I can show them a pic with the wiring on the proper terminals...The Swifty/DD relay comes with instructions but the Crydom doesn't..If you can read wiring schematics the Crydoms are on the web...But if you could read those or the Swifty instructions you wouldn't be asking anyone how to wire one up...

AutoCAD? I'm a Computer Engineer... That's my student copy of PSpice (now called OrCAD)
