Default Water block suggestions/advice wanted.

So soon (Midway/late September) I'll be getting a X38 board for the improvements in PCI-E. Instead of using the same Thermaltake water block I have with cardboard or some rubbish to use with the backing plate to stop it making contact with the motherboard, I think a new water block may be a good idea.

Questions and thoughts:

-Would a different water block offer me better temperatures?
-I may be getting a Quad core CPU. (I may be able to get a good price on the Xeon version.)
-It would need to come with the needed mounting accessories.
-Should work well with my 3/8in tubing.

What is your current waterloop set up?

Yes, good waterblocks improve temperatures.

The best CPU block for a quad-core would be a D-Tek FuZion with a nozzle. However, it is very restrictive so you need a good pump. If you are using a Thermaltake system, a block upgrade pretty much means you need a new pump.

The Armor LCS. All Thermaltake parts.

Is the pump so much of an issue with it just pasing through the CPU block, into the rad then into the res?

Its nice and quite, fits nicely in the case to.

Edit: The pump beeing the newer P500 model.

Could you provide me the flowrate (GPH, GPM, LPM, or LPH) and head (Feet or meters) of the pump?

For a simple loop, this might be an upgrade but I need to know your current pump specs: http://www.dtekcustoms.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=188

Best I could find for you. I assume I'd need to test the Head myself, I've heard about it on here before.

Rated voltage DC 12V
Input current 600 mA
Bearing Ceramic bearing
Flow rate 500L/h
Connector 4pin
Noise 16dB
Fan Life time 80,000 hours (MTPF)

I wonder if CD can ship me one for less than $20...

I can always get a new pump if this one isn't up to it. Whats the worst that could happen? O_o

The Fuzion is a pretty non-restrictive block I would try it and see, those pumps are very weak though....

The worst that could happen is that your pump cant take the load and craps out and your cpu overheats along with everything else and it could cause a fire and explode and then take your house with it.... that's the worst that can happen!

But get the fuzion, it's the best!

Without the nozzle kit, it doesn't look very restricting at all...

Once again you have no idea what your talking about, but that doesn't stop you does it..The Fuzion CPU block is one of the least restrictive that you can buy....

o.O ira you got a new avatar, didnt recognize you... or your tone

... sorry .... What is this I keep hearing about all the restriction in the fuzions (cpu/gpu) and the intent to increase restriction to aid in cooling?

I will go edit my post now .
