how about an electric water boiler? add one of those, and you'll have a lot of wattage, depending on the model. i didnt really look around much, but ive seen 840w and 1.4kw models.

Yeah thats what they use to heat test rads is a variable temp die, you need a small one that will concentrate all the heat into a block sized area and it needs to be calibrated so you will know how hot it is, a Fluke digital temp probe would be nice to and they only cost 4 or 5 hundred bux....

You have to know exactly what the wattage is to record it or its pointless...I could put it on a hot plate or anything just to heat it up but you need to know the exact wattage more or less...I'll look at your paint later I'm out of here right now....

Nice pic...
...The only trouble, the wattage rating is for the whole hot plates heating element...Even if i made a big plate to cove the whole hot plate then attached a WB to it I would only be getting the heat from it indirectly...I need something CPU sized with a variable calibrated rheo to control it, that way you will know the wattage...

I've been eyeing Martin's manometer design for the pressure drop tests, now you've got me looking at heat testing equipment ... any recommended ideas that would be accepted by the general populace as accurate ?
