After I fired it up I heard this annoying sound so I went outside and the mesh filter had puckered in and was ribbing on the Panaflo--so I undid the thumbnuts and took it off and when I was tryin to reach up in there to put the nuts back on WHACK.
Now I have been whacked by some fans in my day..but this one cut me pretty bad lol. Those Panaflos are SHARP man. I would prefer to run a filter...but the idea of having the use of all my fingers in the morning is far more interesting...

That's awesome
 Maybe I'll try something like that, but I think I'd probably have to regulate it somehow. Might have some condensation issues with mine when we get down to our our cold winter temps. Heck, it's been getting below freezing overnight for a while here already.

RE tubing. ClearFlex does not let the UV glow properly...nor does PRimoFLex for that matter. The Polybraid glows a wonderous lambent
  blue. Of all the tubing I have tried this stuff glows the best. The next down is the wire reinforced I get from McMaster.

Nice work CD! I bet your neighbors are probably wondering what the blue glowy thing is hanging outside your window haha.
I'm weird, I like it icy cold in my room, so I prefer to let the cold wheather inside vs setting my gear outside.

Hey CD, nice little project there... how about throwing some birdseed in the little shelf ya got there?!? He!He!
__________________Too bad that setup wouldn't work in horizontal sliding windows... at least as far as the shelf weatherproofing.  But still a damn good idea!!!

The downside is it makes taking a smoke break at night a bit annoying...the damn thing is hellatiously loud. I have some ideas about how tio alter it to make it look less odd too...no sense advertising right? I live miles away from civilization but if someone in an urban area hangs $200 worth of cooling outside their window it better be in an indestructible box that is virtually impossible to tamper with. Or on the second or third floor
