Default WCing tips

I just graduated from high school ( ), and I am planning on building a water cooling system with my graduation money.

I have been reading reviews and opinions and guides and tips and all kinds of junk about water cooling systems, but I would like to compile a list of the best methods, blocks, tube sizes, etc. that is useful for (not just me) to build a high quality water cooling system.

If you have any tips, suggestions, or knowledge of the best products to use, please post them here (with links if applicable)

maybe if we get enough information on here this could become a sticky!

should the chipset be cooled? should there be separate lines for the CPU and GPU/chipset? should a high GPH pump be used (500-1000+ GPH)? what size should the tubes be? what is the best liquid combination to use?

lol i have lots of questions
please post anything you can think of that might be helpful to anyone else who plans to water cool!
thanks

this is my case - Silverstone TJ-04
this is the GPU block I plan to buy - Koolance ATI X8xx block
my cpu is a P4 660
my gpu is a an ATI X850XT platinum edition

Most people like danger den parts, building custom kits, I like swiftech parts, and they are availible in pretty good kits and they are usually cheaper then custom.

don't get kits or cases that come with kits they suck and have small tubing
use 1/2in
and a good cpu block would be a dangerden tdx
make sure you get some fluidxp+ from dangerden
its not important but really usefull
and before you put in a watercooling system
ALWAYS test leak for 24 hours
if you mix copper and aluminum make sure you get a anti-corrsive additive into the liquid
and try to get some uv additvie for that cool glow
and heatercores are way better then radiator
most people using dual heatercore
2 120mm fans on each side
the chipset isn't really important the main thing you need to cool is the cpu and video card

my case has a 120mm fan in the front, with the air flow being sucked from the bottom between the front cover and the case. is this really bad? i know its not great, but will it critically affect performance? because im not going to cut a hole in the front of my case.

- 1/2" tubing is best
- dont mix different diameters of tubing
- put the rad or heater core on the outside of the case
- pump goes lowest in the case
- reservoir goes highest in the case
- you can do without a reservoir if you use a t-link

you should cut another hole for 2 120mm fans
since 1 120mm heatercore isnt really that great

just brainstorming here...
maybe they could be in different places...???
like put one 120 at the top between the psu and cdrom - and one under the 5 1/4 drive bays like normal

i dont think 2 on top of each other would fit in my case

my case (minus the 3 1/2 bays)

Silverstone TJ-04

not alot of room to work with - and I don't really want anything big like a rad sticking off of the outside
