Blowie's Custom WC Build Log ! ![]() Yep it's that crazy dutch guy whit the Bumfights avatar and his love for Bacardi... - Why do i want a WC setup ? - Well i've been always into AMD, since i think it's the OC processor, and it has became a little hobby of mine, reasently i become a member of 'The order of opterons', now i want to push it even further... so i removed my IHS, that helped allot, and i know that i've got an Opty that can't exeed 2,9Ghz (or probably, since there is no guaranty in OC, but still wanna try) i don't like pelt or phase so the only thing there is left... is H2O, the best option for me ![]() - List of order ! - PUMP: Laing D4basis - € 83,00 BLOCK: D-Tek FuZion - € 67,99 RAD: Black Ice Pro Stealth 240 - € 30,20 RES: Coolplex Pro 10 - € 29,90 FAN: 2x Silverstone FM121 - € 30,00 TUBING: 4x Masterkleer transparent 1 Meter - € 15,96 FITTING: 6x Straight High Flow 1/2" - € 17,40 ADEP FITTING: 2x 1/4" to 1/2" - € 5,70 CLAMPS: 10x Plastic 27/19mm Clamps - € 8,50 FLUID: Deionized water (demineralized water) - € 4,86 DIE: Feser UV Die Blue - € 7,95 Home Depot stuff Screws, and some other things - € 16,25 MISC: Shipment Costs - € 16,00 Total - € 333,53 that is an total of 486.629 USD' (@ 11-11-'07 - DD-MM-'YY), everything is soooo expensive here ![]() - Stores - www.Alternate.nl (Fans) www.Freezinghardware.nl (CPU Block, Black ICE RAD, RESERVOIR, FITTINGS) www.bg-computers.nl (PUMP, TUBING, ADAP FITTINGS, DIE) www.amz-rotterdam.nl (fluid) - Pictures - ![]() (Click for they're full size !) - Status - Recieved all packages, i'm now building and testing my WC loop ! - HELP - - Overclock dot net - Thlnk3r - Txtmstrjoe - AmericanNightmare - Ira-K Thanks guys !

The Test Build ! So i finnaly got everything in, and i couldn't wait to get started, i did allot of pre-work and allot of thinking (since i had to wait for a long to time to get shipped) so i had practually ecerything setup in my mind. [ ![]() Well let's start with a nice bottle of Bacardi Oro ! ![]() ![]() Now i remember something on OCN about the FuZion has something in it that you wouldn't rather have in your loop/fluid. but i forgot what... so i opened my block to check it out ![]() Yep, now i remember, it's this O-ring that looks like smeagol in a box ![]() ![]() A closer look... ![]() ![]() So i took a small Victorinox knife and cut the extensive rubber off the ring. this in order to make the ring fit properly back into the FuZion. ![]() ![]() And here are 2 close-ups for the fans ! ![]() ![]() Since i don't wan't any leak in my loop, i'm using teflon on every barb in the setup. ![]() ![]() ![]() And some on the caps of the reservoir. ![]() ![]() And even the pump get's it ! ![]() ![]() Here are the two Silverstone's FM121 (107 CFM variable) on the 240 rad. ![]() And here how i like to see them fit into my Armor case. ![]() ![]() But in order to get it fit i need to make a bracket to hold it in the middle. ![]() ![]() I thaught about the air getting sucked into the rad, and i wouldn't want to get the air past the sides of the rad, so i cut up some foam and put it at the sides of the rad, seems like a nice sollution to the problem ![]() ![]() place of reservoir and pump ![]() Here i drilled some holes into the floor to fit the pump ![]() ![]() Also drilled holes for the stands of the reservoir, so it would hold it's place by all the tubing. ![]() so here is the final setup of my loop, this in order to get it nicely into my case without have a reservoir or a rad outside. ![]() in order to hide the pump as much as i can i had to put it as much as i can in the 5.25" bays, you can see the tubes of the rad running past the pump and up...

The Actual Build ! ![]() So this is day 2 of building and by now i needed a new bottle of bacardi, so out with the old, in with the new ! ![]() ![]() So in order to run the pump without having the build everything in and have a change of leaking on my hardware i needed an spare PSU (stole it out of my dades PC )![]() Here is the method how to hotwire a PSU, connect the green with any black one (seen it somewhere before) ![]() Here are the fluids (Deionized water + UV Blue Dye) and gear needed to fill up the system ! ![]() Well you do the mathe after allot of drops ! ![]() so by now i started to fill up my loop with the method, 5 seconds on/off. this in order to get the pumps sucking water instead of air (didn't help much, this water guzler sucks it like mad ! ![]() ![]() ![]() this doing by filling up the res completly after each pump start... ![]() now this is where mu problems started, because of the pump doing 1200L/H and i have no variable pump, the pump pushes the water out so hard that there is starting a turbulence in my res, which follows in sucking air like mad. ![]() ![]() this after 30 minutes running.... now the rest of the build ! ![]() ![]() so i decided to build in wc loop into my pc.... ![]() and then i forget this the metal bracket for the socket holder, i shuilda know that wouldn't go on with the tubes already atached i to my block. but luckely i only spilled a few drops disconnect and reconnecting it for the bracket ![]() And now some show-off pics, enjoy ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() test and results will come soon !
