SUPER MEGA ULTRA UPDATE Dec. 25. 07 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 12/21/07 UPDATE! newegg stuff came today! second post! scroll down! there was an image issue which is now resolved. is there something wrong with attachments ocn? so i got the go ahead on building a new system for work this is what im looking for. im mainly a 3D/graphic artist, and half the time my system is either 3d intensive, or CPU intensive. im looking to spend something thing around 2500 and below. especially for rendering im looking for 3.4 on up video card im open to suggestion, remember system is mainly for work here tho i will be benching ever so often completely open to suggestions with cooling. also open to both cpu and gpu cooled, as this system maybe on for days on end (intensive rendering) anyways im going to be ordering tomorrow, or atleast parts of it. so lets do this! heres my list to start. Hardware: Update: 12/18/07 1x ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard $259.99 1x Intel Core Duo Quad Q6600 $260 (G0 plz) 2x Transcend AxeRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) $231.98 1x SILVERSTONE DA800 ATX12V / EPS 12V 800W Power Supply 2x Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive $209.98 1x SAMSUNG 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA $33.99 1x 8800GTS 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 $359.99 puts me at $1,770.24 with shipping and tax (newegg) again open to suggestions the 8800GTS doesnt matter what brand, XFX got a mail-in rebate so thats nice Cooling: Update: 12/18/07 Swiftech MCP655 Vario 12v DC Pump DTek Fuzion w/ nozzle for rad really depends on what case. i was thinking cm690, its really cheap roomy, got potential, looks like i can mount a 120.2 on top with ease. so BI GTX240 or PA120.2 unless theres some other good suggestions i dont want so much to run a rad box, so if i can with some modding get it in the case i want to do so. and as for the rest of the cooling, just the basics. 1/2 ID x 5/8 OD tubing, smart coil, i want a fill port and maybe a res, i dont mind using a T i see that Mountain Mods gots the BIX III for 77 which is kinda cheap, wonder if there in stock, they dont have any stock status oh also sound isnt too much of an issue but if i can keep it low then thats great. cant wait for the parts to be pouring in got a work station in the back where i can put the who system together, now only if they had CNCs... anyways This should be quick, hopefully i get all the info i need by tomorrow so i can order and start this thing thanks for watching edit: forgot system drives a 30" flat dell 3007 edit: 12/18/07 Block: Undecided Pump: 655 vario http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/swmc12vdcpu.html Rad: BI GTX240 http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/hwlablicegtb3.html Fans: 115 CFM Panaflo http://www.svc.com/fba12g12u.html

maximus, GTX, and i would recommend 3/8" tubing for the maximus block. the FuZion doesnt really care about 1/2" vs 3/8", especially with the nozzle.
would also have to recomend Trancend aXeRAM 1066 over what you have there. I've seen it reach 1360Mhz on the maximus (with 2.64vDimm), which is the highest ive seen any DDR2 go. should be a bit cheaper too, not sure.

I like the all metal Stinger custom CPU blocks....Stinger WB
The Fuzion is a good commercial block.. I'd go with a GTX with some decent cfm fans like these....86cfm Pana.....The GTX will beat a PA with 47cfm fans and higher...... The BIX is a good rad with 100+ cfm fans, these are what I used on mine...108cfm Sunon....115cfm Panaflo... Tubing...This is really good and its cheap, I prefer it to Tygon......You use it on 1/2" barbs, its more compact and a little easier to route around in your case....7/16x5/8" This for full 1/2x3/4 tubing.....1/2x3/4" Heres some stuff you might like to read and I'll leave you my cleaning and set-up PDF also... ...Assembling your Custom Watercooling Setup ...D-Tek Fuzion install tip!
