you guys think my 360gtx will handle qx6850 OCed to atleast 3.3+ 2 8800gtxs mild OC?
im having a hard time trying to figure out how to do this. i can run 2 loops, that would be best its hard to decided on what kinda of rad to have on the 8800s, MCR320? i was thinking HWLABS 360 GTS, but i dont know how well that preforms up against a MCR320.

need suggestion, things are flying by and nothings getting done. sponsors getting antsy lol i want to WC my 8800s, hopefully EK fcs if i can find any in stock or willing participants in this build (more sponsors)

as of now the rest of the parts are coming in monday, i have class on tues day so theres not going to be much happening that day, maybe opening everything and fitting it in the case, but thats about it.

right now im trying to figure out how im going to run the WC, if i can do it in one loop, great if i cant, i have work to do, all rad internal if i have too i will chop up this case! it will break my heart but the make over should be good

anti-cyclone? well to celebrate the up coming events (arrival of stuff) i tested the EK res with a 1/2" 90 elbow

question for Martin if he ever reads this, think that elbow will restrict much, say if i put it on my rad, and possibly 2 of them?

lets hope everything comes tomorrow then we can start.

still pulling in alot of air, but it wont with all block and the tubing etc restricting flow, the anti-cyclone works to some extent, as the flow is so strong that it cyclones above it lol.

enjoy

edit

this is crazy, ran it for like 10 mins and the water temp reached 30c with just the pump thats ridiculous heat dump going on but then again theres no rad cooling it down, but still thats alot more heat then anticipated

Looks good, nice looking build. I keep saying one of these days I'm going to build me a new case and design it like this rather than just getting parts and making it work.

I have a new flow rate estimator on my site here:
http://www.martinsliquidlab.com/Mart...Estimator.html

Looks like you'd still have pretty good flow at 1.1GPM or so I think flow rate is fine. The copper elbows are not very restrictive at all, most of the restriction is coming from the EK supreme.

The thing I would watch is coolant temperatures with all that heat. You should probably consider some good strong fans to move that much heat or your coolant temperatures will be pretty high. That quad could be as much as 200 watts plus another 170 from each GTX plus another 20 from the pump so 460 watts total.

I would probably go with at least a 360 GTX and some 86+ cfm x 38mm fans.

yea, understood. thanks for the link ill take a look myself. well in that case i dont mind investing in a 480GTX which should do more then enough cooling, right now the 360GTX will be using 114 CFM panaflos.

i got alot of stuff in today so ill be posting pics as soon as i get home.

thanks for dropping by

Here is swiftech MCR320 c/w curve:

These are base on a 10C water delta and 70cfm delta fans. So with the delta fans you would be looking at an estimated .025c/w on the radiator.

460watts x .025c/w = 11.5 C

You water would be around 11.5C higher than the air entering the radiator. That's not very good. I would generally consider water temps something like this:

Less than 5C excellent
Less than 10C average
>10C not desireable

So putting the larger fans on there and getting a thicker and more dense radiator like the GTX would help some, the fans especially.

Personally, I would consider running a second radiator in the top of the case too, then just use the strongest fan you're willing to put up with.

Hope this helps some..
Martin
