How do i remove tubing safely?
I was given an old koolance rig, pc2-601, and i wanna mess around a bit. How do i remove the old tubing, its on so snug. Is there a trick to it? Also, i need to get some more 1/4 tubing, does the new screw in style adapt to what i have, which seem to be metallic clamps?

if theyre that tight , i would cut the old lines off with the waterblock still attached to the MB. i would then remove the waterblock from the system and then use needlenose pliers or something to remove the leftover pieces. you dont want to be yanking on those lines with the block still mounted to the cpu and MB.

cool, i tried the knife one, but i started to cut through to the pump case itself, so i backed off. lol. needle nose pliers sounds good.

tin snips also cut tubing very well.

Use a pair of scissors and wiggle it around in between the pump and tubing and you'll eventually get underneath and be able to make small cuts and use pliers to yank it off

i use a tubing cutter to cut the tube at the edge of the barb and then cut lengthwise (not across the barb, with the barb) being careful to only press straight down and not drag the blade across the barb (dont want to score the barb). this will split the tubing and make it easy to remove

nothing beats a box cutter, u only adjust so much and cut the tube. since you say it's old then that means that the tubing is dry and a PITA to just wiggle out.
there 's not liquid in the lines right? hen just rip it apart.
