I figured that a bit after I made the post. I mentioned in the writeup though that I would be concerned about the mounting even if it came preconfigured from swiftech for your platform. If during leak testing you experience any leaking I'd check for those gaps I mentioned as they're almost surely the culprit.

Voted "Suitable little cooler"

I took mine apart as well. I was paranoid about those o-rings, and tightening evenly and securely.

Isn't a single 120mm fan radiator rather small?

Yes, but I've seen benchmarks revealing that it's adequate to cool even a quad to below what most air coolers are capable of.

If you were running anything more than a processor on the loop though, I'd strongly advise throwing another rad on there. The pump on the Drive can steam it's way through some pretty beefy radiator configurations.

I'm thinking of getting this setup for an AM2 rig. I was planning on getting also the MCW30 chipset waterblock. This thread is very helpful so far.

One small English question, what is an O-ring? Are they the thin rubber thingies that prevent leaking where two metal surfaces are tightened together? My dad is a plumber and I'm pretty good at it myself, but I can't find a suitable translation for the word from Romanian or French.

If I understand, the greatest problem of this kit is that the CPU waterblock isn't properly sealed and while changing the 775 bracket to the AM2 bracket there is a high chance that the rubber isolations (o-rings?) aren't place exactly where they should be and the waterblock leaks... that's like very easy to fix with either tightening the screws, or if it's not enough we can just add up some more rubber.

Now, the next point, are the hoses fixed tight enough to the barbs thru those plastic contraptions they provide in the kit? They just look flimsy, I'm wondering weather or not some steel 3/8 tighteners would be better (the word-to-word translation from Romanian would be "steel crown", is this right?).

Thanks.

*EDIT: I just found a review where they dismantle the CPU waterblock to fit it on a 939 setup.

...and another question, sorry for the double post, what are the outer-dimensions of the radiator? I would guess from the pictures something like 160x180mm and a 30mm height. Could anyone please confirm?

yes, the o-ring is the rubber seal that keeps things from leaking.

and yes the plastic clamps they use to hold the hose on the barb work very well. just use a pair of pliers and give them 1 extra click after you've tightened them with ur fingers.

if u want 2 get this kit, u will need the 220 radiator. if u add the MCW-30 4 the northbridge, it may b too much 4 the radiator 2 handle still.
