that stuff is flash,it was press sealed from factory that's the excess crud.
btw: nice tut marcus, i did that for my gpu block.

I don't think it is flash...it appears to be a different, softer material, if it was flash it wouldn't pull off so cleanly or wrap around the bolts in the same way, and the other gasket is perfectly clean.
__________________It seems much more like a sealant applied before the gasket.
