I hear people say load temps... what exactly are they? Can someone explain the difference between idle and load? Thanks

Well, water has much better load temps, but it can't compete with air cooling for idle temps.

water is better, no doubt. But good air coolers are nothing to scoff at. My tuniq has my e6600 @ 3.6. Full load is 44, with 1.425 volts.

Yeah, I would go back to air. The old P4s needed really good cooling if you wanted to o/c them well, but it seems that with every new core and core revision Intel bring out, temps are becoming progressively less of an issue. I'm not sure that water-cooling, (for CPUs anyway) is even going to be necessary in a year or two. So many really good o/c's are being had now, on increasingly good (and less expensive than water) air coolers, it seems to me that the money I've invested in water cooling is becoming increasingly less justified.
I might sell off my water-cooling stuff in the near future and invest in a really good motherboard, air cooler and a better graphics card. Highly-Annoyed
