My tubing decided burst after the pump shut off LOL. Nothing was hurt, as the pump died before it burst, but the loud pop sure scared me. I'm guessing the heat from the vmodded 8800gts heated up the water so much it created pressure and made it boil which also weakened the wall of the tubin, thus making a loud pop and scaring the hell out of me!!!

I replaced the tubing and its working just fine now.

Tubing is rated for much more pressure than a waterloop could achieve. If the tubing burst due to expanding water... then your water temps must have been over 100C.If your water temps were that hot, your CPU temps would have been over 100C and auto shut down would have kicked in. Also, you would have seen steam and your radiator would have been hot to the touch. I'm also surprise the tubing wall was the weakest part of the loop. I would think a connection would leak first.

I think it was just a piece of faulty tubing with a tear.

How long did you run without a pump?

This is one of the major reasons I don't have WC (that and I transport my PC about once a week). With my luck something similar would happen to me. Sorry to see it happen to you, probably was a defect in the tubing like deskjockey said.

The water temperature in that was probably well over 100c, as it wasn't the cpu, it was the gpu. When I went to touch the waterblock after it burst, it gave me a slight burn (and i touched the plastic part). I'm running this e8400 underclocked atm at stock voltage because im having some issues with massive vraise/vdroop on this board and i gotta rma it, so the cpu wasn't hot enough to throttle yet. I ran my 8500gt at ~200c idle when the hsf fell off, and i didn't notice until the next day. The back of the board was a bit scorched, but it worked fine.

I'm worried about the tubing on the other side of the block, its VERY stretchy and flimsy where it connects to the barbs, compared to the other tubing. I'd better replace it.

I'm not sure for how long I was running without the pump, as its very quiet and I couldn't hear it die.
