Default Opinions on the Swiftech MCP355 Pump

I'm probably going to get this pump if the MCP-655 Vario doesn't go back in stock at the Egg. The problem is that the valves are 3/8 (I think) and I have 1/2 tubing. I don't intend on getting a separate top for the pump.

I have been using 2 350 pumps with tops and they do a great job. I just ordered a 355 and a petra's top just for my CPU loop and one of the 350's with a petra's top for my GPU's loop.
If I were you I would get a top for that pump and run on 1/2" tubing.

I was using a mcp355 with a xspc top and that easily beats a mcp655 vario it looks cool aswell. I would definetly recommend a top because thats why the pump is so famous and that is how it improves with the tops.

click here to look at martin's look at all the mcp355(it can also be called DDC3.2) tops and as you can see the XSPC restop(which just came to america a few days ago) and the XSPX regular clear top are the two best tops out there it also shows how much of a difference it makes between having it at stock and then having it with a top

Any top is definitely recommended and needed really. XSPC tops are good and so are the petra's tech DDCT tops.

I really liked the old 18W DDC but they have been de-tuned now and are barely better then a D-5 with a after market top on it, so they are more expensive then a D-5...I'd just get a D-5 vario myself....

I have a limit on what I can spend, so I'm most likely not getting an aftermarket top. I hear that DD has a 3/8 to 1/2 valve conversion.
