It should be great. I run a Swiftech with 2 120mm fans and my temps are 18c idle and 26-30c depending on overclock at the time. You might want to go here and check them out.

uhhh ohhhh...... the "K" word. I can feel the Heat from the Flames a com'in. VS

ALUMINUM = OUCH

but if your running Innovatek Aluminum Blocks then Go for it! If you plan on running Copper then StAy Away!

I had to learn the hard way - Koolance will definately Cool your system - but at what price? I could not live with wondering what was going on inside the Alum Rad... or at what point would a pin hole develop and take out my system.

Anyways - with as much money as I have wasted on Koolance Exos and stuff ($10 and $12 fittings left and right) - I could have started right away with a Nice GTX Rad and DDC or D5-v, and a D-Tek Fusion. Koolance are very expensive in general. But I do agree that those Shrouds for their Rads look killer. I love the looks of the Exos and your Pic posted.... but just not worth it to me.

Just my 2 cents - Not knocking them, if you are going an Aluminum Loop Route - just be aware of Galvonic Corrosion.

Galvanic, yes I heard of this, we have this little problem at work on our cooling towers for a hospital.

Any idea where i can get just the koolance shroud or some other shrouds like that?

Rumor has it that they are going to make that type shroud available to purchase by itself. (Written in another Forum - XtremeSystems) That was about 2 weeks ago.
Im not really sure honestly - I cant see it being a one size fits all though.
Simple reason is MCR-320 360-GTX PA120.3 are different in sizes although all are 3x120 rads.

There was an Awesome Shroud just posted today as well - check out that Thread!

Yeah, the custom one with lighting? That was pretty sweet, is he selling them?

So Galvanic Corrosion, what if I was to run distilled water or some non conductive aditive? I should be fine then right?

Koolance is slowly takin there heads out of there arse when it comes to w/c i've seen some of there new products w/ COPPERand i think there ready to compete yeah i said it. maybe next year when they recycle there aluminum rads and turn them in to coke cans we can all rejoice and party even some of u that use koolance now can up grade and recycle ur sytems...lolz

back to Op.

This rad/shroud system is a great idea however it will slowy kill u system cause it's still made of aluminum and ur w/c cpu block is made of ???? if u run some insane amount of anti freeze or some anti corrosion fluid u may lenghten the life span of ur rig but as far as cooling goes u will still sacrifice some c's over all copper/brass system.

Yeah I would never mix metals like copper and aluminum, it will cause galvanic corrosion sooner then later...Some guys do and use an anti-corrosive like pentosin in it to slow it down..Pentosin...I just couldn't ever suggest anyone else use it much less me use it...Theres no need, if it was some kind of super cooling metal that would really drop my temp's I might try it with a cheap block, but its not, it wont perform as well as copper and brass, its just cheaper and easier to make it out of aluminum...Galvanic corrosion..

You can always brake a shroud out of coil-stock, you can get it in all kinds of sizes and lengths at almost any hard-ware store pretty cheap, like a couple of bux,its used for roof flashing or heating and AC duct work, its galvanized so you have to sand that off to paint it, its a real thin layer and comes off easy...Or you can buy thin aluminum to make one out of to, costs more though...

I just bend mine between two old 2' rafter squares, just c-clamp it between them, works great.....Check out d3's work here..How To: Build A Performance Shroud..Very nice...

You can get aluminum sheet here pretty cheap if you cant find it locally if you would rather use it....Online Metal Store
