Thought you guys would want to see these: http://flickr.com/photos/13347224@N0...7604267068133/
They look hell of a lot better than regular Koolance blocks. I'm not sure about performance, they should be as good or better than the regular Koolance ones. The only thing I can't figure out is what that black plate is made of. It can't be delrin, but it could be copper. Should I dissect one? ![]()

where'd you get them? I saw they were for sale. They look nice, but I'm definitely not a fan and wouldn't use koolance myself. My guess is would be delrin just by looking at it (smooth black texture).

![]() I doubt it's delrin though. I mean if you see it in person you'd see the tiny lumps. It could be painted copper. I guess I can find out by opening the block, doubt they would put paint inside the block. I'm sure it's not delrin, those delrin Petra tops I have on my DDCs don't take long to warm with my hand, but these blocks are cold. Feels like copper if you ask me.

I doubt it's copper, too expensive. Probably aluminum.

If that one's gold-plated copper then I'm pretty sure this is painted copper. After all this block does compete with EK and DD. Lots of people opt for Koolance because they're $20-30 cheaper and offer about the same performance with more bling.

id say its anodized aluminum, as the core plate is already gold plated copper.

I hope its not aluminum Nuc, it probably is knowing there gear...Put them on their own little loop with an aluminum rad and you'll be alright...Just don't mix it with any copper or brass rad and blocks....

Koolance says it's made of copper, aluminum, and steel. The base plate is copper, the silver top is steel, and the silver shiny thin layer with the art is the aluminum, so basically there isn't any aluminum touching the liquid.
Though I don't think I'll ever use one. I might keep one as collectible. ![]()
