Default position of reservoir

does it matter where it goes as long as its above the pump?

I have mines about 4 inches above my pump, but I've seen most people have theirs much higher almost at the top of the case is that just for preference?

thanks

Yep - your good to go! 4 inches above is fine.... even 1 or 2 inches above are ok. The only reason for this is, you want gravity to take the liquid to the pump - extremely important when filling your loop, as you dont want to the pump running dry. (depending on model)
You will see lots of T-Lines, EK Res's, Micro Res's = It's pretty much user's choice and for sake of ease of servicing - refilling / topping off and etc.

I agree with ira-k. I have my Reservoir about 7 or so inches above my pump. It helps the lines bleed faster. Although, I do not really see an issue with having the reservoir only 2 inches above the pump. Heck, when I first started water cooling, I put my pump in the 5.25" bay, and the Reservoir on the case floor and it still worked fine.

Send a email to Swiftech and see if they'll send you a new one. They're usually nice about stuff.

Put the reservoir at the highest possible point. It will double as your bleed line and eliminate air issues.
