So I decided on my senior project to watercool my computer but I have no clue where to start. I was thinking about cooling both my CPU and GPU but I want it to be cool, nice, professional, and most importantly cold.
First I couldnt decide on a case I was looking at these: http://www.dangerden.com/store/produ...?productid=250 http://www.dangerden.com/store/produ...2&cat=1&page=1 But I'm going to college so im not sure if I want to have an exposed case like that. So can you guys help me thanks in advance the only part I looked at was the radiator and I heard that the 480GTX is really good.

There are three ways to spec a WC system: 1.) Read the advertizing about preassembled kits, and pick the one the copy writer did the most convincing job on, as there won't be any hard data to base your decision on. 2.) Believe the responses you get from people that respond on forums with information such as : "I used one of those and it was good.", but again there won't be any hard data presented. 3.) Do the calculations for various components and from that data (and understanding of how water cooling actually works you get from doing that) pick the components that will do the job that you need done. Start here for a good description of the process. If you choose to go that route, I'm sure you will get answers to questions about anything you don't understand about how it is done.

You can use a res or just a t-line...I like a res because it will bleed fast if you keep it at the highest point in your loop...These are nice.DD 5 1/4" Bay Reservoir..Plus you can see you coolant moving in it...I like that...
...I use Pentosin.Pentosin.And PT Nuke..PT Nuke. As the base for my coolant, the rest of my recipe is in that PDF...If you have a Audi/VolksWagon dealership near you can get that Pentosin cheap, G11 is blue and G12 is red...Just add 4 ounces of it to every 40 ounces or so of distilled water for a 10-1 mix..The 480 GTX is a nice rad, with just a CPU and GPU a 360 would be plenty, but over kill on your rad is really a good thing, if nothing else it will help even your temp's out, they wont spike so much on you....If you can afford it and realize that you don't have to have it you might want to grab one... I had mine at one time as a free standing rad, I just set it at the rear of my comp...How or where do you want to mount your rad? A 360 can easily be mounted to your rear fan mount with a rad-box..Radbox ..Or just make some brackets to hang it on the back... ![]() I like a big case for WC'ing, the CM Stacker is a good one, the Chemming/Chieftec server cases are nice ones also, especially if you want to do some modding to them...

Yea actually depends on your price range as well.
High End Cases: CM Stacker 830 Silverstone TJ Series ( 07, 09, 10 ) Lian-Li V1000 Series Mid End Cases: Gigabyte Aurora Antec P180 series ( 180, 182, 182SE ) I suggest those cases for watercooling for the space needed. For watercooling in general in parts, cant really help you as im just starting to get into watercooling.

Thanks Ira-K I was thinking about just connecting the RAD to the back of my case and I didnt know you could do a T-line which do you prefer T-line or reservoir

But I can't see how the elevation of a raz will have any effect on bleed times. Why do you say that? Keeping the rez above the pump will probably make initial filling easier, since blipping the pump/tipping the case to keep the pump from running dry probably won't be necessary. But height? Water flows through the rez at the same rate no matter where it is, and it's when the the water flows through the rez that the bleeding takes place. Comments?
