Default Fuzion Pro Mount questions

I have a Fuzion pro mount Im installing on my rig, and I have one simple question. Do I screw in the screws all the way, or is there some limit? I havent reached a maximum point on the screws yet, but I tried moving the CPU around and It didnt budge a milimeter.

Im using a lapped Q6600, and the fuzion, which was lapped flat, and then was made slightly bowed when I installed the washer that came with the nozzle kit. It shouldnt need thermal paste (we'll see), but my main concern is how tight to secure the screws on the pro mount?

I haven't used that one, but the way I tighten a stud mount on a back-plate is to evenly tighten it in a criss cross pattern till I can barely move the block a little...You might have to do a re-mount or two to get the feel for it, some will do better with a little more tension and some with a little less.....

Yeah.. well with the back plate there, screwing in the screws the first couple threads you're kind of in the dark as to if they are screwing in or not. So there's a bit of room for error. There are metal pieces inside the springs I believe to stop it when it gets to the point it shouldn't be tightened anymore, but Im wondering if they should be tightened down that much.

I guess when I boot up Ill see the temperatures, and If they're out of wack Ill unscrew it and try again. I didnt use paste, so reseating shouldn't be a problem.

Oh OK it has limiters in the springs, thats good, I've broken off my back-plate legs more then once trying to get a good hard mount...Just snug it down real well and it should be fine...

Ill be very careful, as its a first for me. Ive got AS5 on hand, and IC Diamond 7 on the way. If I dont get the temperatures I want with no paste, Ill use one of those. Like I said, both the block and cooler were lapped, so there should be good contact. Im also using a Fuzion nozzle, and the O ring.

Ive been checking it for leaks since about 4:00, and there havent been any so far, so it looks like Ill be firing it up. Ill make sure to post the temperatures back here. Should be interesting.

Ok, temperatures are 54-54-49-49 across the four cores using prime95.. Which at stock speed with watercooling is pretty terrible. Im too tired to reseat it tonight, but I probably will either tomorrow or saturday. Im just happy to have my computer back If you wanna really appreciate your computer, dont use it for about a month. Its like Christmas again.

I am using NO TIM I remember seeing some threads on the topic. Because Both were lapped, some people said it wasnt necessary to use it. So as of right now, Im using zero TIM. However, tomorrow or saturday I might try using just a dot.. and I mean a DOT of AS5. I think the line method, even with a mechanical pencil tip would be way too much.

I've got that Pro Mount as well and it is hard to tell what the best pressure is when you tighten it. Also, I don't remember getting an O-ring with my nozzle kit. Is it black rubber?

Its black, and about 1/16" thick or less. Its about the size of a penny. They have pictures of the O-ring on pictures of the nozzle kit. One side is sticky, so you stick it on, then put the pieces together, while making sure it doesnt move any. Its supposed to help with temperatures, by making ALL of the flow go through the copper fins of the block, instead of letting some water get by, and never go through the cooling part of the block.
