k so im building my first custom wc loop. mid-last week i tore out to crap built-in system in my 3d mercury case. my coolant hasnt come yet so im taking my sweet time this weekend perfecting the loop. i went out today and bought some cheapo tubing from the hardware store so i could experiment with place and tube lengths without cutting up my precious 1/2" tygon or 7/16" swiftech tubing.
here is the loop order i have been considering up to this point w pic below: res > pump > rad 1 (2x120mm) > rad 2 (1x120mm) > cpu > gpu > res cpu block isnt on cuz im running the system with the stock air cooler and an old 7900gs gpu while i plan out this loop. tubing is placed on the stock heatsink to mimic the placement on the MC-TDX waterblock. tubing looks kinda funky running to the 2x120mm res up top because i havent cut the proper holes in the case to route the tubing. also this cheap tubing kinks super easily so you might notice a couple kinks... wont be a problem with the tygon or swiftech tubing. i was also considering placing the 1x120mm rad between the cpu and gpu in the loop if that would help with performance. another question i had.. as you can see in the pic the 2x120mm rad is situated lying flat in the top of the case with the barbs pointing down. im gunna double zip tie those connections to make sure theyre secure. could this rad placement cause any problems otherwise? please throw all your feedback at me.. i need all the help i can get. i will be posting a build log after this is completed. thanks!!

Doesn't look bad, I'd leave the top rad kind of loose so you can take it loose and shake it to work the air out faster when your bleeding...You could put a rad in between the CPU and GPU, but your really not going to pick up much heat from the CPU and the GPU isn't nearly as heat sensitive as the CPU is...I'd leave all the rad before CPU...
I cant really tell from the pic's, but I wouldn't have any block inlet and out-let tubes touching each other, the out-let will warm up the inlet over time, a small thing but something to watch for... Fun ain't it.... ![]()

Nice job of keeping the pump right after the res. That will keep the pump happily supplied at all times.

k just a quick update. i placed the pump with the sticky pad and temporarily mounted the res and rad1. Ive decided to grab an additional swifty 2x120mm rad to mount inside the case where the 1x120mm was placed in the original photo. the taller barbs on the dual rad actually simplified tubing inside the case a lot by allowing looser angles on 2 tubes without blocking the res.
i was left with a single dvd-rw bay but thats a sacrifice im willing to make. i bit the bullet and started cutting up my tygon tubing (always cut a bit long and test, even if it takes longer). i quickly realized that tygon is the only tubing material that i am going to work with. the pic shows what i was able to get out of 5ft of tygon. today i gotta get the holes cut in the top of the case for rad2 and drill a couple holes to mount the res. also worked on cable management... this case is great if youre patient. tubes are still a bit long as i will leave the fine tuning till go time. loop order will either be: res > pump > rad1 > rad2 > cpu > gpu > res -OR- res > pump > rad1 > cpu > rad2 >gpu > res when i get more tygon and the 2nd 2x120mm rad i will figure out which is better to plumb

Okay so I'm trying to build a custom Loop, but I already have the Thermaltake Bigwater 760i which has an idel temp or about 32-36 degree C sometimes higher for some strange reason. I want to go lower than my current temp but I was thinking instead of getting rid of the 760i I could add to it.
__________________I was thinking the loop should be like the picture below: Keep in mind that the 760i is Res> Rad> Pump > CPU> Back to Res This will help better: ![]() Also the links for the added parts that I will be adding. Does anyone know if Kollance products are any good. CPU Block: http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...product_id=664 3 Fan Shroud: http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...product_id=634 The Pump is still a maybe and if I do add a second pump the specs will have to be the same as the original 760i Pump or close I have also been looking into getting an Aqarium/Water Chiller.
